Our Eucharistic Journey

Group created by Amiciel

This group is for those who wish to become better acquainted with the Lord Jesus or who wish to gain / share practical insights on the Holy Eucharist.

Here, we can talk about Jesus and His values, carry on conversations about Him, follow th liturgical life by sharing thoughts from the Sunday and daily Masses. We can evangelize one another by sharing insights on the parts of the Mass, sharing thoughts from our adoration hours, from our readings, prayers, meditations, etc.

I know someone whose "Eucharistic Journey" was triggered unexpectedly by a statement from a priest/theologian/professor who said something to this effect:

Each Eucharist should be a true encounter with the Lord Jesus as our Friend. If our Eucharists are living encounters with Jesus as a Friend, then, what great joy will be ours as we enter eternity, and we realize that our Divine Judge is the same merciful Jesus we have encountered so many times in the Eucharist, as a dear Friend and Redeemer.

Each Eucharistic Celebration is therefore an excellent 'preparation time' for eternity. It is a necessary part of our Catholic life; it is not optional.

Our Journey is for beginners hoping to gain more insights on the Lord and His gift of the Eucharist. It is also for those already advanced in their spiritual journey, who, we hope, will share their precious insights with us. Together then, let us hope to deepen our relationship with the Lord and bring others along with us.

Come Holy Spirit, enlighten and guide our group in our search for Truth. Help us to remain on solid ground as we travel home towards eternity.

Mary, loving Mother of Jesus and our dear Mother, be with us as we go our way. Amen.

March 19 - Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary

St. Joseph has been honored on March 19 since the end of the 10th century in many Western Calendars. His feast was accepted at Rome in 1479 and in 1621, was inserted into the Universal Calendar. He was declared Patron of the Universal Church in 1870 by Pope Pius IX. He is also the Patron of workers and carpenters, and many more, including Patron of Austria, Bohemia, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Vietnam.

In some places today, it is customary to bless bread, pastries and other food and to give a large portion of it to the poor.

March 17 - St. Patrick, Bishop

St. Patrick was born between 387 and 390 at Scotland. As a young man, he was captured and sold as a slave in Ireland. Here, he tended sheep. Later, he escaped from slavery and decided to enter the priesthood, and then became a bishop. He preached the Gospel to the people of Ireland and converted many to the faith . His 2 primary achievements were the promotion of a native clergy and the careful integration of the Christian faith with native Irish-Celtic culture. He used a simple, sincere, biblical style of preaching that won both hearts and minds. He died between 461 and 464 in County Down, Ireland. He is the Patron of Irelnd, Nigeria, Montserrat, New York, Boston, Engineers and is invoked against snakes.

Hi, everyone. Just an FYI. Somehow, today, our group became a moderated group without our requesting the change. Could be a computer glitch?? I have requested our Moderator to change our status back to being a public group.
