Our Eucharistic Journey

Group created by Amiciel

This group is for those who wish to become better acquainted with the Lord Jesus or who wish to gain / share practical insights on the Holy Eucharist.

Here, we can talk about Jesus and His values, carry on conversations about Him, follow th liturgical life by sharing thoughts from the Sunday and daily Masses. We can evangelize one another by sharing insights on the parts of the Mass, sharing thoughts from our adoration hours, from our readings, prayers, meditations, etc.

I know someone whose "Eucharistic Journey" was triggered unexpectedly by a statement from a priest/theologian/professor who said something to this effect:

Each Eucharist should be a true encounter with the Lord Jesus as our Friend. If our Eucharists are living encounters with Jesus as a Friend, then, what great joy will be ours as we enter eternity, and we realize that our Divine Judge is the same merciful Jesus we have encountered so many times in the Eucharist, as a dear Friend and Redeemer.

Each Eucharistic Celebration is therefore an excellent 'preparation time' for eternity. It is a necessary part of our Catholic life; it is not optional.

Our Journey is for beginners hoping to gain more insights on the Lord and His gift of the Eucharist. It is also for those already advanced in their spiritual journey, who, we hope, will share their precious insights with us. Together then, let us hope to deepen our relationship with the Lord and bring others along with us.

Come Holy Spirit, enlighten and guide our group in our search for Truth. Help us to remain on solid ground as we travel home towards eternity.

Mary, loving Mother of Jesus and our dear Mother, be with us as we go our way. Amen.

Hello, everyone. It appears that until we have 10 members (thanks Beth for this info), we cannot have our own conversation thread. I thought we could use the CAF Main Forum for this purpose but "cross-pollinating" to the main forum is not allowed.

So, we'll just go ahead and use our Wall Message Board to start our sharing tomorrow re the necessity of preparing for our ECs.

The initial comments will be based on LK 22:7-15. The topics that will surface from the comments will be practical and easy to relate to our daily life.

Come Holy Spirit, enlighten and guide us. Amen.

GKCT, That's just great! It really is providential that EWTN is airing this new series at this time of our Journey. The problems you observed seems to be problems we have here, too. It just shows how we need to understand the necessity of preparing well for each Eucharistic Celebration as a non-trite event.

Heavenly Father, thank You for all our blessings. Bless each of our group members in our effort to spread Your Kingdom. Grant each of us Your singular grace that will enable us to become the person You created us to become. Amen.

A warm welcome, hyldad. Truly am glad you joined us.

I thank the Lord for all the graces He has been giving you. Nothing in life is an accident especially those events that lead us to Him. These are His direct outreach to you. You accepted His invite to come for an hour of Adoration ... from this grace to which you responded, He asked you to teach CCD to 23 youngsters and bring them to Him... Will certainly pray for your intentions and for your youngsters. Again, welcome!

I stared adopting an hour of Adoration each week sometime this summer. I am so blessed that our parish offers Eucharistic Adoration. The first week I went the DRE also signed me up to teach 5th grade CCD after my Hour. What a great joy and challenge this is. I need the strength and inspiration from my Hour to try to pass on the Faith to 23 youngsters. Please pray for them

I've been watching Fr. Menezes program and learning much.
Being on time for Mass is essential to experiencing the entire Mass, not just parts of it. And then there are those who leave after receiving Communion. And those who don't genuflect or bow on coming in. We need to show respect for the Eucharist and the mighty graces it brings to us. The wonder of it all. I am always in awe and filled with such love for what He has done for all of us from the Consecration to Communion.

Hi, all. EWTN is airing a new series "The Biblical Story of the Mass", hosted by Fr. Wade Menezes, CPM and Tom Nash, theology adviser of EWTN. I've read the description of the 12 episodes and it looks like a very promising source of thought for our conversations. Just an FYI.

Amiciel, I will wait for our thread. Thank you. Meanwhile, Thought # 3 just made me realize the value of ALWAYS praying for God's help in everything we do.

Beth, you mentioned a very important truth regarding the Holy Spirit giving us charisms to 'build up the body of the Church'. Yes, our charisms are given to us by the Holy Spirit, NOT to be kept for oneself, but to be used to help others. Thanks for this thought.

GKCT, you are truly welcome to the group! Your background will certainly be a precious help, like Beth40n2's, so that we can have a well-rounded and solid discussion on the Eucharist; especially with respect to details that are meaningful and practical to know, but not of common knowledge. We may make the Consecration one of our first threads. Thanks for joining and again, Welcome!
