You have 1 new mail message

One usual night in April 2003, feeling exhausted and sleepy I made one last look at the clock hanging in the office, finally convinced my self that my work was done for the day. Upon arriving at my boarding house, I went straight to my room (with my roommate sound asleep) to change and went down to the kitchen then living room to watch TV. My mind can hardly process what I was watching so I went upstairs and climbed up to my bed (Rose and I shared a double deck bed), said my night prayer and talked to St. Raphael about how my days went and some other sentiments. As if still having enough strength, I grabbed my rosary and started praying. This would usually wake me up in wee hours only to find out that I still need to recite four more decades, but that night my body felt like a heavy log lying sound asleep.

It seemed like just a few hours passed I started hearing a soft voice calling my name. the voice became louder each mentioned of my name (clearly because I was Ignoring it). Then there was a vision of a large being with wings. That concluded I was indeed dreaming. Then I heard it again, this time it was very loud as though each sound was vibrating in my ears. Also there was a sudden shaking, it felt so real that it made me a little dizzy. With that I felt subconsciously awake hearing footsteps and Rose's voice. She seemed upset about something, talking to someone. Suddenly, memories from last night came flooding back and remembered that I was suppose to have a night shower and left the kettle being heated in the kitchen! With that, my eyes opened as wide like it had seen a ghost and I went down as fast as I could to the kitchen. Seeing the kettle almost covered in black coal, I understand why Rose was so upset...we could have been burned alive! Thankfully one of my board mates woke up a little early and impede the might have been tragic incident.

On my way to the office, I was still a little shock , trying to assess what exactly happened. The vision was very clear to me (usually when I dream of something, I can hardly recall a thing). As though all my blood went up feeling warm, it dawned on me that the being was an angel and looked like St. Raphael. He was the one trying to wake me up.

It was all too much to grasp in a day, and was very hard to convince my self it did happen. Clearly, I wasn't also too willing to freely disclose it at that time. Perhaps the reason is I place my understanding in the wrong source...my self not God's. Reminding my self that it was I who sought God's help through St. Raphael, in the first place. Same as writing to God and entrusting the messenger my letter.

    Tobit 12:12 & 18

" I was the one who brought your prayers to his glorious presence"

"He wanted me to come and help you: I didn't come on my own. So sing God's praises as long as you live".

This story began 6 years ago. I was struggling to remember every detail so I asked God's help. When I opened the bible , it lead me directly to the story of Tobit where the angel Raphael helped his family (I wasn't surprised this time. I knew it wasn't a coincidence). I smiled...feeling his presence...I knew He was smiling back.

It is with our willingness to embrace and accept God's blessings that we allow to experience his abundant gifts.

    All praises to our God!

May we all experience God's love in our lives.

    In Good Hands

In 2004 I started writing and composing poems on the web which helped me a lot discovering more about my self and purpose in life.

I met John in one of the catholic chat rooms. We instantly became friends, mainly because we both have the same intentions...to find a friend, to talk with and pray for. After months of developing a growing trust and friendship, he asked me to pray for him on his upcoming operation in January for the removal of tumor, lymph node and half upper left lung.

A few months before the conversation, I was in the mall strolling and noticed a small stall of religious relics. With no agenda whatsoever, I stopped particularly staring at the miniature angel statues. It made me curious of the other guardian angels not so familiar to me. At that time, St. Michael was the most famous. Suddenly, a past incident recurring vividly in my mind about a high school teacher who once said that we all have our personal guardian angel sent by God to be with us. At that moment I thought, it would be nice to know my guardian angel, so I asked the sales lady and she said she needed my complete birth date ( the most vivid I can recall so far), she then said that it was St. Raphael.

From then on, I started praying and talking to St. Raphael as if he was my long lost friend. There is so much to know about him, so my research helped a lot in getting to know more about this divine angel. He is considered a patron saint of medical workers, and may be petitioned by them or those needing their services. Remembering all these, John's face appeared in my mind, so every night before sleeping, I offered my prayer's to John's upcoming operation.

    This was my prayer:
St. Rafael right now my friend John needs your help more than I do, please be with him. I pray that he will be in good hands, be with him every step of the way and may the operation be a success. All this I ask in Jesus name. Amen. Then I prayed the rosary and asked our dear beloved Mother Mary for intercession.

Few weeks later, John was on line and as if having a usual routine, we immediately share updates what's currently happening in our lives. John started Informing me that he just visited his doctor for his regular checkup before his operation. He said that he was referred to another Surgeon named Dr. Rafael Bueno and was assured that there's really nothing to worry about because “he is in good hands”.

As if my heart stopped upon receiving the information. Not knowing what to say exactly, I just decided to be silent about it and assured him of my continuous prayers for his upcoming operation

At first, my understanding was limited to accepting the incident as reality, in conclusion regarded it as just coincidental, but realized eventually, it was a confirmation from another unusual experienced I encountered in 2003.

    Matthew: 7:7-11

"Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you".

For I was seeking a companion and you gave me friend...I was seeking a friend and you gave me a treasure...I was seeking treasure and you gave me my happiness.

God knows what we need ...we just have to ask him.

The Operation was a success. On Feb. 2009, I shared the story to John. Both of us felt more grateful and blessed.

Please join me in continuous prayer for John. He's undergoing CAT SCAN once a year (Sept.2009 for this year). March 2 will be a schedule in Boston for semi annual exam and blood works.

    All praises to our God!

Thank you very much! May we all experience God's Love in our lives.

    United in Christ,
