MalaLucania - Pray to the Holy spirit to help you discern spirits. Discerning of Spirits is a gift, but you can still test the spirits and gifts. Are then in line with scripture?

Thank you Blu suede shoe, yes discerning of the spirits is a spiritual gift. The best thing we can do is to spend lots of time with Jesus. Pray for the gifts of the spirit you want, and ask Jesus which spiritual gifts does he wants to have. But know as with any gift comes responsibility. The spiritual gifts are for building up of the church, when we recieve gifts, the Lord will want us to use them.

nguemo, your question about dreams makes me think of Acts 2:17 In the last days it will be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

Dreams just like a word of knowledge or anything else needs discernment. Is it of the Lord, satan, or just your own spirit? Ask yourself, does it please God, is it in line with the scriptures. The Lord gives visions and dreams as a way to give us a word of knowledge. If your dreams are re-occuring, sounds like you might want visit with your priest, go to confession and get some counceling.

I plan on attending the Charismatic Renewal Confirence in St. Paul in Oct. it will be my first one. I have been Catholic for 5 years, and have been active in the Charismatic Renewal in my Diocese.

Will anybody in this group be attending the Charismatic Conferece being held in Peoria Illinois this July???
