Hello. I just joined the furums actively. This my first time to post, so hope I do it right. For me, the experience of the extraordinary gifts was somewhat of the way that God enamored me and as I grew in the knowledge of the church, I don't necessary depend on these spiritual consolations, rather I live by faith and thus in love, but I do not not neglect these gifts or reject them when God wishes to shower me with them.

Any Charismatic Catholics want to answer why the Baptism in the Holy Spirit Is so important to you, and how has it changed your life?

You are so welome I am glad it blessed you. You know it is my hope that when I move on to be with the Lord that I too can be useful still to His kingdom. I don't know why but I just love the idea of still being able to assist those who are still on earth. Gives me the warm fuzzies....

Thank God for all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, but Remember Paul said without love we are nothing. So let all our deeds we do before the Lord, be out of Love. First for God and then for each other. God Bless you and have a great day in Jesus.

I received the gift of tongues about five years ago. I speak in three languages and what an awesome experience! The Bible says "ask and you shall receive" so I'm asking for the gift of discernment also. We are taught that at the laying of hands all the gifts which we have already recived at Baptism/Confirmation are re enkindled so I'm praying that all of the gifts will be manifested in due course.

Anyone want to take a crack at a hard questioned?...I am new to this group but this post intrigued me, so yes I want to take a crack at it. I am not a theologian so please remember grace when you read my reply.
I have encountered a few who seem to misunderstand the catholic view of Mary and the saints. From a person on the outside looking in praying to Mary and the saints can be seen as idol worship. The Bible teaches that there is one mediator between man and God and that is Jesus. This is where the distinction is made. He is our mediator and Mary and the saints are our intercessors. The Bible also teaches that we sholud ask for other saints to pray on our behalf. Mary is one of those saints. In Revelation 8:3-4 we read that the angels and the saint are before God interceding for the saint(us). Asking our friends to pray for us is also asking the saints (fellow saints of which all beleivers are called) to intercede for us. Is this wrong? No. The Holy Spirit is the voice of God per say to put it simpliy to guide us into all spiritual truth. There is no explicit direction in the Bible that teaches us to pray to Mary, but if you see Mary as a saint of God then asking for her intercessory prayers is perfectly Biblical. Hope this helps.

Don't ever forget this. Jesus said my sheep Know my voice and another voice they will not follow. We must be careful in these last days. The Bible speaks of a great falling away. This is from sound Doctrine. The Bible is the final authority and I don't care who it is, if it contradicts sound scripture it is to be rejected. Jesus said call no man teacher (Most don't have a clue what that means) It doesn’t mean the title can't be used. It means Jesus is our true teacher and we listen to Him (MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE). Mormons are Mormons because they made a man their teacher. Jehovah witnesses are Jehovah witnesses because they made a man their teacher, and so forth for all occults. Jesus is my teacher and I know His voice, and another I will not follow. Get into the Word of God my friends and ask the Spirit of Truth the Holy Spirit for guidance and Make Jesus and not man your teacher. God Bless you.
