    Hi Joana:

The best books I've read about the Catholic Pentecostal (or Charismatic) movement are: The Pentecostal Movement in the Catholic Church by Father Edward O'Connor, Catholic Pentecostals by Kevin & Dorothy Ranaghan, and As the Spirit Leads Us, also by the Ranaghans. They are easily found in used condition on Amazon.com, or eBay.

    God Bless You!

I became a Charismatic along with my wife 35 years ago. I tell my Prayer Group that The Victory has been won by Jesus. We need to play out the remaining innings we have and follow Jesus. Being a charismatic has opened my heart & mind to His message and spirituality. I'm still learning and growing.

Hi all! I was so excited to find this group! I'm looking for additional resources to find out more about the gifts of the Spirit. Any ideas? I'm so blessed to be in Omaha where the Intercessors of the Lamb are located. They have been an invaluable resource and I've gone through a couple of their programs (Empowerment in the Holy Spirit and Heart to Heart Listening) but I would love to learn more from all of you. God Bless.

Paul talks about the"higher gifts"Tongues, and prophecy and all those other gifts are meaningless without the higher gift of love.
Certain gifts can are overemphasized but love can never be overemphasized. There isn't enough of it. Our gifts should never work as a barrier between the rest of the church and Charismatics. our spirituality is different, more joyous, more enthusiastic. Out light should be shining , drawing more to us. But it isn't is the problem with'them"? or "us"? We need introspection and we need to bring tongues of fire and flames of faith to the bleeding world. The world lies in darkness, it lies asleep- we should awaken it again with faithful love with our armor of God bright and shiny. complacency is not for us- half measures are not for us. Jesus always asks us to do and accomplish more than is"humanly' possible. But we don't rely on mere humans and we don't rely just ourselves.. Awake from your slumber! We must be the servants of the Lord and each other . anything else will fail.

On the Holy Spirit, Third Person of the Trinity and sent because Jesus prayed and ask the Father to give us a comforter, a helper, a guide who would guide us in all truth. John said I baptize you with water, but Jesus will baptize you in The Holy Spirit and fire. It is a gift from God an endowment of power to be a witness for Jesus. Please read Mother Angelica's testimony on her experience with the baptism in the Holy Spirit, you should be able to find it online. She started EWTN, and has a Book out called "Private and Pithy Lessons From The Scriptures" It give a little of Her testimony in the book. This should help and as days go by I will talk more about this. Remember The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity so He is God and God is Everywhere, so He is with you always. Ask Him for truth and help any time you need Him. God Bless

I would like to join your group. I'm sorry but I didn't see this group when looking for groups to join, so I started my own Catholic charismatic group. Sorry.

1 Corinthians 14:1 says "Pursue love and strive for the spiritual gifts, and especially that you may prophesy.
