Just joined. I'm a single father of a 2 year old daughter. Just lost my job Tuesday, and can't seem to harness the panic that is now radiating throughout my body. Frenetic thoughts--fears of the future, fear that I won't be able to provide. Loss of everything. Fear is a terrible thing. I know this is God's will. But to let go of the reins, and let God's will be done is easier said than done. How to let go and be fearless and patient is what I'm struggling with. Please pray for me. Any advice, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and God Bless! Ed

Thanks for your prayers. Everything went nicely with the new priest, he's young, about 40. He grew up not too far from here and I like him. Things got changed around a bit, of course, and we in the musical group are getting some new hymns going, etc.

No more Latin, unfortunately. It was my last tie to my original Catholic faith and Fr. Carl had been saying part of the mass in Latin, but, oh well... I guess most folks had trouble dealing with the Latin. I on the other hand could recall sitting in mommy's lap and listening to it when I was about 3. English, Latin, it was all the same to me! (I didn't learn to speak until I was 3 and a half because of dyslexia anyway). But God was there back then, Jesus was there too (and the Spirit), no matter what language was spoken.

Somehow these days though, the Latin sounds conveyed to me (and still do) the coming of our Lord and the presence. I don't know why, they just did. Anyway... all went mostly well.

Then we had a welcoming dinner for our new priest and my friend Betty drove me home as she always does.

Sorry Rainbow 13! my 2 year old decided to "help" mommy! Anyways the rest of the prayer goes...
gently to the right path. Permit me always to forgive their misdeeds and keep me from speaking harshly or punishing unwisely. Please help me to be a beacon of goodness for them as they grow to adulthood, and to be a good example to them in all I say and do. Amen

I say thi prayer every day as well as asking St Monica to intercede on behalf of all mothers and those mothers whos' children have fallen away from the Church, now YOU too will be included in this request. God Bless you.

Rainbow13- I will be certainly praying for you daughter to come back HOME! Pray to St. Monica- if you don't know alot about her- I highly reccomend you read about her, she had a son that was about as far away from the Church as he could possibly be, but through her persistant prayer and heart-felt tears, the Lord not only brought him into the church- her son became St. Augustine! She is truly one of my absolute favorites! Don't give up, just keep praying, Jesus hears you and will answer your prayer! One of my favorite prayers is...

O Lord who taught Monica to perservere for the good of her family, help me to be a better parent to my children. Help me to have patience with them when they misbehave, and give me strength to guide them gently

Jesus: I pray for my 22 year old daughter. She was in your family and you were such a huge part of her life. Then in May, she said she just didn't believe anymore. She's replaced you with a college degree, books, the world. I never saw this coming. We've prayed together, attended mass together and my allowing her to go away to become educated the world stole her from me. I cry myself to sleep and I'm numb. I don' t understand. I know I have to let go and let God and that we all have our trials. When I gave birth I promised you that I would always keep your first and I offered her to you. Please guide me through the darkness and open her heart back to you. Amen

Dear Father God, Please cover our new priest, Fr. Jones, with Your blood this morning, as he does his first mass here in Andrews, NC. As well, please do the same for our beloved departed priest, Fr. Carl, as he does his first mass in Marion, NC. Bless them both and keep them holy. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.

brandyann - You don't know how happy i am that you are now welcoming Jesus into your life! You may be in a bad place right now, but Jesus will help you to feel better! Just knowing that He is at your side as your constant companion is a comfort! He will never abandon you! I know there's a lot of work to be done when you first bring Jesus back into your life because you want to live a life pleasing to Him, but don't be discouraged! i went through the same thing and now I am happier than ever! Don't get me wrong, I still suffer but I'm not alone and I look forward to Heaven! I agree with myboysmommy that going to confession is the best thing you can do right now. In one merciful swoop, Jesus will forgive you all your sins and make your soul as white as snow! He will put those sins as far from Him as east is from west and never bring them up again! I recommend that you pray to St. Threrese of Lisieux, the Little Flower. She was called by one of the Popes "The greatest saint in modern times."! While she was on earth she said "I will spend my Heaven doing good on earth." Tons of people have received graces from praying to her. You can find out about the life of St. There here and also read many many testimonies of how people were helped by her intercession. God bless you! I hope you post here and let us know how you are doing throughout your spiritual journey! Rejoice! P.S. Don't try or think you have to change and fix every failing and bad habit you have in one day. Jesus understands that these things take time, like growing the beautiful flower of your soul, it won't happen in one day, but it can grow stronger and have the promise of a beautiful flower at the end! http://www.littleflower.org/

myboysmommy - Thank you so much for your prayers and your sweet post! I was so surprised to find that I was the angel in the end!

Brandyann- you will certainly be in my prayers! My best suggestion to you would first be to try and go to confession, sometimes we just really need to hear the words, "you are forgiven". You might even consider contacting a priest for annointing of the sick , that might help start the healing process- remember it doesn't matter how many times you fall, it's that you keep getting up! Lean on the Lord, He will always help you if you ask Him! The verse that I was just thinking about was Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." We were just talking about it in one of the other group fourms I participate in. Those are powerful words, nothing that we do or have done is too much for the Lord to heal if you let Him! Be strong, we will be praying for strength and HOPE for you! God Bless You!

God's Holy Will- I pray that your friend Buddy will be comforted by the grace of God, I pray that his friend will soon be resting in the Lords mighty hands. Buddy is lucky to have an angel here on earth looking out for him in YOU! God Bless you and your friend.

hello everyone..I need your help through prayer. I feel bad posting about myself, but I am in a bad place right now. However, to end this, I am welcoming Jesus Christ in my life. I have lived all this time without him and I have sinned so much it makes me sick. I am now suffering the repercussions, as I have severe anxiety, depression, and sloth in general. I am going to try to work on cleaning my apartment today, but when I'm not working, I am laying in the same spot in bed and it makes me sick. I want to live my life the way He intends for me to. Does that sound absurd? Any passages in the bible you reccomend or saints to pray to? thank you for listening
