This is a group for those who are outwardly praiseworthy as far as giving God the praise through words and song. Also to share their experiences of charismatic spirituality in their own lives.

    Dear spirit_filled,

    In answer to yr queries:
Can you tell me how I can find out more about the Spirit In the Life seminars? Is there a website? Do you know locations for the seminars and dates?

Why not begin by asking around at your local parish (or nearby parishes) if there are any charismatic prayer groups (CPGs) in your vicinity; whether and when they conduct Life In the Spirit Seminars (LISS)

Alternatively, you could find out more info about CPGs in your state at these web links:

    National Service Centre (USA)
    http://www.nsc-chariscenter.org/search.asp

    Catholic Charismatic Centre (North America/USA)
    http://catholiccharismatic.us/index....iewlink&cid=93

For more info on the Life in the Spirit and Charismatic Spirituality:
    http://catholiccharismatic.us/index....BB2&file=index

    Hope this helps!

    Grace be with you
    OnceLostSoul

[PS: If you are not from the USA, I'll gave you the links to international websites]

    Hi SP_Warrior,

In reply to the message you posted:
"I would like to know other's experiences when you were rested/slained in the Holy Spirit.",

I have witnessed or heard testimonies from close, trusted friends the following 4 kinds of outcome during praying-over at Life-in-the-Spirit-Seminars (LISS), Praise & Worship meetings or during Healing Masses. These are described below according to how frequently they occur :

    (A) Nothing happens
More accurately, nothing externally visible happens, although the person may receive increased feeling of joy and peace. This is the most common outcome. This was what happened at my Baptism in the Spirit.

    (B) Resting in the Holy Spirit
The person prayed-over becomes so filled with the Holy Spirit that he/she temporarily loses consciousness of surroundings and body sensation, the knees give way and the person faints backwards gracefully and gently (usually assisted by a ‘catcher’ to prevent injury). The person relaxes with a serene facial expression (reflecting inner joy and peace) on the floor for a few seconds or up to several minutes before re-gaining consciousness and getting up to go back to the seat in the pews. During the resting, inner healing and sometimes physical healing may occur. While there may occasionally be a little mild trembling or a few tears in the eyes, it is a calm, pleasant and consoling experience.

    (C) Manifestation
There is some blockage or resistance to the entry of the Holy Spirit. Due to an intense inner struggle, the person may faint displaying symptoms of unease such as shivering and shaking, crying and rolling about on the floor. In the majority of cases, these symptoms fade after a few more minutes of prayer in tongues; the person regains consciousness and gets up to return to his seat in the pews. In more serious (and rarer) cases, the symptoms could include moaning, screaming, salivating or foaming in the mouth, thrashing about on the floor, changes in facial expression, skin colour or body shape. When this happens, the experienced members of the group gather together to pray over the afflicted person and the symptoms normally go away after some prayers of deliverance are said. In the most extreme (and very, very rare) cases, exorcism by a priest authorised by the bishop is needed.

    (D) Holy Ecstasy
In relatively rare cases, the person prayed-over may experience visions or strange sensations; utter prophecy or sing angelically while in a semi-conscious state. A good friend of mine felt the warmth and closeness of Jesus hugging her in prolonged embrace when she closed her eyes during Baptism in the Spirit. During the BITS, she was seated on a pew apart from anyone while the two persons praying over her were standing in a pew behind her. In another case, a Korean nun began to dance and spin around so energetically and gracefully that it could only be described as ‘dancing in the spirit’, way beyond normal human effort. Very extremely rarely, a person in ecstasy can levitate or bi-locate or perform other supernatural feats just like certain well-known saints.

    Hope this answers your question.

    God bless you!

    Shalom..
Hallo Ladybri77.. I am glad to find this Forum. I have been Catholics since KinderGarden, and I joined the Charismatics as participant since late 1990s. My first involvement in the Charismatics since I took an Evangelist classes in 1999. My personnal opinion for Charismatics Catholics is very good! My understanding of God is somekind being updating. God is trully exist, very powerful much powerfull then anyone can imagine. I turn to love God more and more, I think He gave me somekind of Charisma as mentioned by St. Paul in the Bible. I like and enjoy it very much, and I want to use my Charisma to help others. Be a part with God works!
I hope there are more people to joint this Forum and share their experienced. GBU all!!!

Praise the Lord, when i first went to a charismatic prayer meeting I found those words so strange and if Im honest even a bit uncomfortable .Now they are part of my every day dilogue with the Lord.Through attending meetings and fellowship with like minded people seeking the Lord,my Life has been turned around through the Holy Spirit.Oh and i love the praise and worship music.Ok thats it for now.God Bless.

Hi. I joined this group a few days ago. I wanted to be a part of a site with other Catholics. Many of the so-called Christian groups online are hateful to Catholics. I recently had to leave one because a young "Christian" man filled my wall with "facts" that prove Catholics are not Christian. It really hurt me, but I know things will be different here. Whew! It is difficult to find charismatic Catholics here in the South, let alone Catholics in general. Most of them are in the southern part of Louisiana. Up here in north Louisiana, there are very few of us. We have one tiny Catholic bookstore. Anyway, I believe in the gifts of the Most Holy Spirit, and look forward to discussions with people who share this view. I thank, and praise Jesus for helping me find this group.
