For seniors and shut- ins

Group created by flower lady

A group for seniors or shut ins who simply want to talk to someone about anything that you want. Our grandkids, our troubles and concerns, our loneliness. However, we welcome all. With age comes wisdom. With God we can accomplish anything together.

    I started a closed, moderated, etc. group called LIVING WITH DISABILITY if any of you might care to join. It is a place where we look for how to overcomne with the help of our Lord, pray and also if need be, vent a little here and there... Please feel free to join, if you think this would be helpful to you, thanks! sk

    Good morning dear friends. I too have thought as you expressed on December 3, elibrimom. What I have found is that the more I give, the more God gives me. As an example, last week I was called to report for jury duty at 8:30 this morning. They couldn't tell me how long I would be there or anything else about the time I would have to spend there. I had made an important doctor's appointment for my Dad today. I need to take my mother shopping tomorrow. There's a lot to do anyway to prepare for Christmas, so jury duty would have been a hardship for my mother,father, sister, husband and myself. Friday I received a phone call saying I am excused from jury duty. God is good! Keep being generous with your time, talent and possessions, and God will take care of you. Of course He does expect you to use common sense.

    Sheilakathy I love your little Christmas tree! You inspire me with your creativity and your beautiful pictures.
    God's Holy Will, you are precious to God. Remember that and think of the gifts you receive everyday. I know you don't have a lot of possessions, but you are so full of God's love! It overflows to all around you.

    Kelly, I hope you will soon have the credentials to help others as you want. I know you must be frustrated to want to work so badly and have to wait to pass a test. I pray that God's peace will be with you when you take the exam so that you can think clearly and remember all those things you have worked so hard to learn.

    Flower lady, I see you so seldom! I feel like we moved far away from each other. Our day yesterday and Saturday, too, were very nice. I did some yardwork on Saturday - in December! Isn't that amazing? I live in Ohio, after all. I hope and pray all is well with you - that your less frequent visits are due to wonderful new pursuits rather than illness, worry, or unhappiness. You have given us a lot on this site. I hope if you have a need you will at least let us pray for you.

    God bless all of you as you await the coming of the light into our darkness.

    One Day

    Walking along one Sunday afternoon

    Radiant flowers gleaming within bloom

    Bright clouds aligning sunlit skies

    Birds upon tall branches freely fly

    Along the rivers bank waters flow

    Butterflies flutter to pastures below

    All this created within one day

    Like the rivers bank upon I lay

    As I pondered it all occurred to me

    Ti's my Lords creation I did see

    Please pray for whoever it is that keeps looking at me at church. Quite often I turn around and find him gazing right into my eyes! I had thought it was some fellow who just lost his wife, (only because someone at church tried to identify him for me when I asked who he was recently...) but now it seems he may be another person entirely since he was in a crowd when I tried to point him out to my friend who tried to identify him for me. I was curious and had asked...

    It seems the person who she identified for me today, instead, may be a MARRIED MAN! (However, we still may not have pin-pointed who the fellow IS! Still working on it... in the meantime, PLEASE pray that whoever he is, he has honorable intentions and is not married!

    sk, more curious than ever now!

    Most merciful master;
    loving and kind
    Love he shows me;
    that is divine

    My heart is open;
    unto his love
    Forever I love him;
    my master above

    My most loving King;
    upon heavenly throne
    With you in my heart;
    I am never alone

    A kingdom to enter;
    where God reigns
    In glorious heaven;
    without turmoil or pain---=Kelly O'Mara

    Guardian Angels
    In times of loneliness they stand near;though maybe not seen they're everywhere..
    They watch us daily and keep us near;as we march through life with out fear.
    Our Lord is with them and at ev'ry post;to watch his children through the holy ghost.
    These loving Angels by our side; protecting his precious children with ev'ry stride--Kelly O'Mara

    Gotta make up for that poem...heres one I wrote a couple of minutes ago with my 12 year old.I am so proud of her.She is gifted and Duke University is looking into testing her for a future scholarship.(already!!)

    The House

    There is a house that is special to me;
    It sooths my soul so spiritually,
    It's founts running water calm my mood;
    when praying to my savior in solitude,
    It's stain glass winows glisten in hues;
    while inside;soulfully I pay my dues,
    In this house;spirituatally is revived;
    and many sinners change their lives,
    In this house we recieve the blood;
    and the body of the savior we love,
    This blessed gift is from him to us;
    It is his body and blood ;our Eucharist---Michelle Waddington and Kelly O"Mara
