For seniors and shut- ins

(From a passage about Blessed Saint Elizabeth's writings [1880-1906] which expounds upon her thoughts.
From the book, "365 SAINTS" on the pg. for Nov. 5th):

"Sometimes we think of Heaven as being up in the clouds or maybe out there beyond the stars. If we look for Heaven in a physical location, we will end up like the Russian Cosmonaut who declared he couldn't see Heaven from outer space. That's because Heaven isn't a location; it is a state of being."

Dear little sister kelly, this prayer is especially for you because you love to write.


Gracious and Holy Father
Please give me:
intellect to understand you,
reason to discern you,
wisdom to find you,
diligence to seek you,
a spirit to know you,
a heart to meditate upon you,
ears to hear you,
a tongue to proclaine you,
a way of life pleaseing to you,
patience to wait for you
and perserverance to look for you,

Grant me perfect end,
your holy presence,
a blessed resurrection,
and life everlasting,
Amen

Flower Lady--forgot to say something to you Brenda.I sometimes feel like that too----crowds seem to give me anxiety--the older I get the worst everything is for me.I have OCD and other anxiety and depression.I will pray for you.This is a prayer I found ---I pray this and it helps me so much

Eternal, Holy God,
I come to you burdened with worries,

Depression is a very hard disease to live with for me.It strikes at anytime.Some people are more understanding of ones with the condition than others.I have lost friends because they could not deal with the fact I would suffer with it for long periods of time.I have had trouble with it in all my relationships.It would effect my relationship with men.It has effected me with family members.I have laid in my bed and just wanted not to wake up.It just takes overmy life.I know I have allot to be thankful for,but the depression does not let me see all the beauty and love within my precious family or all I have to be thankful for.It is a disease that blinds us from seeing all the great things around us.It is not kind.But I and others deal with it in the best ways we can.It just makes me feel hopeless.I was having a hard time in dealing with it a couple of days ago.But it is over with till the next time it strikes

Hi all, I agree I just can't seem to survive the really large groups, but then that is me in real life. It seems I get afraid when I am in a large croud. I don't know why I just feel smothered. It's like a phobia.

I saw this poem on the internet and liked it so much until I would like to share it with you.

The Stairs

Oh long and dark the stairs I trod, with stumbling feet to find my God,
garning a foothold bit by bit, then slipping back and losing it.

There came a certain time when I lossened my hold and fell thereby,
down to the lowest step my fall, as if I had not climbed at all,

and as I lay despairing there, there came a footfall on the stairs,
and 'lo' when hope had ceased to be, my God came down the stairs to me.

I sincerely need your prayers my friends, please pray that things work out for me. My social security check did not get into my account this month and I owe three housenotes. I talked to the mortgage company and they said I could send them two this month and two next month. If they don't straighten out this mess before the 1st of next month I could lose my house after being here almost 25 or 6 years and that would be awful, and I don't have but a few more years before it will be paid off. You have no idea how I have struggeled to keep it all of these years alone. Oh well, God's will be done. I do trust in the Lord that whatever happens it will be his will and for the best. for me!
