For seniors and shut- ins

Group created by flower lady

A group for seniors or shut ins who simply want to talk to someone about anything that you want. Our grandkids, our troubles and concerns, our loneliness. However, we welcome all. With age comes wisdom. With God we can accomplish anything together.

    Good morning my dear friends. Really enjoing your hymns and prayers G.H.W. and clare, and S.K. I will pray that you feel better soon, and that God bless you with someone to come and get you out of the house for a spell. I was so busy yesterday washing walls and had some hard chores to do. I was very tired as the day ended. Looking at my clean walls now let's me know it was worth all the work. My daughter and her male friend came and did a lot of cleaning and moving furniture around for me and how grateful I am for that. I love them sooooooooo much. They really look out for me, which is a great blessing for one my age.
    Here is a prayer that I like very much and decided to share with you. Hope you like it too.

    Oh Lord, I thank you for the privilege and gift
    of living in a world filled with beauty and excitement
    and variety.

    I thank you for the gift of loving and being loved,
    for friendship and understanding and beauty
    of the animals on the farm and in the forest and
    marshes, for the green of the trees, the sound of the
    waterfall, the darting beauty of the trout in the brook.

    I thank you for the delights of music and children,
    of other people"s thoughts and conversations
    and their books to read by the fireside or
    in bed with the rain falling on the roof
    or the snow blowing past outside the window.

    Have a happy day all, and God be with you! Brenda

Maybe i CAN GET SOMEONE TO TAKE ME OUT FOR A RIDE OR SOMETHING, because I have "cabin fever" at this point sk

    Clare G - I'm so glad you liked 'Now Thank We All Our God'!! I really love the hymn you shared!!! It made me feel so happy!! Thank you for sharing it!!! My friend Linda told me that she loved the prayer you shared for her and to thank you!!!

    Dear Friends, Linda sends her thanks to everyone who has prayed for her. She is at home now but her babies are still in the hospital. She's waiting for the ok to go and get them!!!
    I hope you will all enjoy this hymn!

    Trust and Obey

    When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way!
    While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey.

    Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
    To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

    Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
    Can abide while we trust and obey.

    Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
    But is blessed if we trust and obey.

    But we never can prove the delights of His love
    Until all on the altar we lay;
    For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust and obey.

    Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
    What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
    Never fear, only trust and obey.

    God so loved the world, he gave us his only son.
    who ever believes, would live forever, each and every one.

    Jesus is the Son, and God is the Father.
    The Holy Spirit protects us, and He is our armor

    We pray to God each and every night,
    We pray through Jesus, cause He is our light.

    We talk with Jesus throughout the day,
    we ask Him for guidance and He shows us the way.

    We teach our love ones how to pray,
    they learn to love Him, and follow His way.

    When our time is up, we leave this place,
    we go to heaven and see His GloriousFace!!!

    The last few posts remind me of one of my favorite scripture quotes. "This is the day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad!" I can rarely quote chapter and verse, but I think it isfrom Psalms.

    flower lady - Thank you for those great quotes! I'm so glad you had a wonderful week and weekend!!!

    Clare - Hi! Thank you for praying for Linda and all of us here at CAF. I'm not a mom but I can just imagine how hard it would be to take care of twin babies and a 2 year old! I pray that Our Lady will be with her every step of the way as she raises her children and I know she will be there for her!

    roseo64 - Hi! Thank you for the excerpt you shared from 'YOU'(I loved it!!!) and for your thoughts on illness! I didn't know where the Morning Offering I shared was from so thank you for telling me!

    Dear friends, have a wonderful Tuesday, a day given to us by our God!!!! Let us thank Him for another day to grow in holiness and closeness to Him before our final hour on earth! Here is a hymn for today!!!

    Now Thank we all our God

    Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,
    Who wondrous things has done, in Whom this world rejoices;
    Who from our mothers’ arms has blessed us on our way
    With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

    O may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,
    With ever joyful hearts and blessèd peace to cheer us;
    And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed;
    And free us from all ills, in this world and the next!

    All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given;
    The Son and Him Who reigns with Them in highest Heaven;
    The one eternal God, whom earth and Heaven adore;
    For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

    God is truly with us in this group. Beautiful prayers and hymns. I am not skilled to understand is gorgeous as well as the prayer for new moms. What powerful quotes from the Rev Ramond. I particularly love the phrase, you are a member of that body whose Head is " God of God, true God of true God" It is always a great reminder and blessing to know that we are a part of God's Holy Royal Family.(the Roman Catholic Church) Thank you for posting.

    Though no-one can go back
    and make a brand new start,
    anyone can start now
    and make a brand new end.

    Actually we have no problems-
    We have opportunities for which we should give thanks...
    An error we refuse to correct has many lives.
    It takes courage to face one's own shorcomings,
    and wisdom to do something about them.

    Edgar Cayce

    I had a wonderful week and weekend, I went to the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary mass on Friday(the first friday too of the month) and they also had a healing service in which I had never attended one before.It was a wonderful experience. The mass yesterday(Sunday) was truly inspiring, the homily was about Heaven and the Priest gave us an idea of what it might be like. An enormous banquet. I can't explain it as he did but I loved the surmon. It was delightful. Just the thought of going to Heaven one day and being with our blessed Lord and his Mother, angels and Saints, brings joy into my heart!
    Have a blessed and peaceful day all! Looking forward to chatting with you tomorrow.
