For seniors and shut- ins

Group created by flower lady

A group for seniors or shut ins who simply want to talk to someone about anything that you want. Our grandkids, our troubles and concerns, our loneliness. However, we welcome all. With age comes wisdom. With God we can accomplish anything together.

Well, Father Corapi has left the priesthood. I hate it but I guess it was meant to be. I did love him so much. I will keep him in my prayers. I heard it on EWTN news with Ramond Arroyo their news anchorman. I must say that leaving the priesthood was a poor decision in my eyes, and to me it makes me not so sure about him anymore. All these people talking about leaving the church if he does,( or so I heard) had better think twice. Satan is a tricky dog. And what's this black sheep dog stuff? A bunch of foolishness if you ask me. Sounds like their are those that are getting pride and vanity mixed up with virtue. I say don't give up the fight. Be still, wait on the Lord; with patience. Priesthood to me is like a marriage, you can't just walk out of it, because things get a little tough. Through thick or thin if I recall correctly. Leaving the priesthood is like walking out on Jesus. How would we feel if when they came to take Jesus, he had said, "They are falsely accusing me, I'm not dying for their sins, I changed my mind; this is just to hard." Where would we be? Maybe I'm wrong in saying these things, but this is the way I see it. I hate to say it, but I thought Fr. Corapi was stronger than that, or maybe he honestly just can't take anymore. God bless him, after all he is human.

    Beautiful saying horgan, and true.
S.K. glad to see you getting even more familiar with the catholic faith. There is so much to learn. G.H.W. Thank you, and you have a great day as well!
I am headed to the store to buy things I have to have for the house. My daughters friend just called and said she will pick me up in a minute. She only lives around the corner, so got to go. Will chat with you later my friends. Brenda

A quiet morning at home... studied my daily Scripture passages by way of my Catholic Visitor booklet, very fascinating! I have this Ignatious Study Bible thast is just awesome, I learn so much from it. Today I learned that Mary is the New Arc of the Covanent in compare with the former one that carried the tablets in the OT. What a thing to understand! She carried Jesus just as the old one carried the 10 commandments!!! Awesome... sk

Gods Holy Will, Thank the good Lord your test was negative. Prayers do work. God hears our pleas. Great news for sure! Let's hope that things run smooth for you now. You don't need anymore agravation. God bless and keep you well.
S.K. Not only will you please Our Lord by singing at the Mass, but it should be a pleasant and fun experience getting to know the choir and learning the different hymns. You sound so happy tonight. Glad things are working out so well.

I am turning in now, and look at cnn and EWTN. Good night all. Pleasant dreams.

Hi friends! My test came out negative so i don't have Tb, so I'm really happy but my friend Samson reminded me while i was anxiously waiting to embrace the cross and to stay focused on wanting God's Holy Will whether that meant I had Tb or not! That's hard to remember when you're in the thick of a problem!

sheilakathy - That's so wonderful that you get to sing during Mass on Sundays!! I pray that you always offer your beautiful gift to the Lord with joy!

Today the Lord lead me to sing up at the alter after mass, and our music leader came and asked me to join the small group who sing during mass on Sundays.

I was told last week by the local librarian here in town that I have a wonderful voice. Before this, I did not know that the Lord had gifted me with such, as I rarely have ever sung! Today there was a lovely song playing in a store while I shopped and so I sang for the joy of it, to the Lord, because I finally have something of value that He has given to me that I can give back to Him! Please pray for me that I do Him justice in this ministry. Thanks. sk

Thank you flower lady, you express your feelings so well! I suspect we all feel as you do but don't express it as well. I know I do. I think you are feeling especially "high" from being able to attend Mass. Isn't it wonderful to be "high" on Jesus? Thank you for sharing with us.

There are so many beautiful prayers and thoughts in your posts here, everyone. I love those that remind us of beautiful prayers of the Church as well as those that come from the heart.

Mary Virginia, thanks for the chuckle. I've heard laughter improves your health and extends your life.

Horgan, i'm not sure I'm exactlya t the bottom, but I know it's an uphill climb from where I am; but then I think it is for all of us. Thank you for taking the time to join us in our group after what must be already full days.

Guess I'd better go get into my day. Talk to you all later.
