For seniors and shut- ins

Group created by flower lady

A group for seniors or shut ins who simply want to talk to someone about anything that you want. Our grandkids, our troubles and concerns, our loneliness. However, we welcome all. With age comes wisdom. With God we can accomplish anything together.

We know that before the end of life happens there precedes it a slow and somewhat painful, yet quiet acceptance of changes to the human body. These changes come about in a very unnoticeable way never giving it any say in things we do. For the people full of courage we try medically to change the course of aging. For some this slow degeneration of the body brings on new crosses to the beliefs we have in Christ. This is the time to offer up these crosses to Jesus Christ so that he may win souls for all eternity. Aging is really a disease that no one can really cure only lessen its effects. Now is the opportunity for every old person to pray in earnest while you have purpose in mind to lessen the wages of sin in the world by offering your pains and sufferings to Jesus Christ.

For anyone who has a computer you can watch online LIVE Adoration. The website is savior.org.

    Welcome to Savior.org's Online Devotions

Enjoy a variety of prayer aids intended to enrich your time with our Lord in adoration. With the exception of a few brief periods each day, Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament is presented live via webcam from the Chapel of Divine Love in Philadelphia, PA - a source of perpetual Eucharistic adoration by the Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters since 1916.

I am a male 74 year old shut in who has been deprived of Mass and Communion...my wife is my beloved care giver and we are pretty much inseparable...weare members of a traditional parish located in Sarasota although we are located in Naples...I am totally unfamiliar with any church services that might be available and especially for information (books, etc.) on coping as a Catholic invalid....any ideas???

I thank God for letting me help the shutins in our parish. I serve Holy Communion to the shutins in my parish as Eucharistic Minister. There are a few who can not get out of there house because of their disability or mental condition. Holy Communion gives them love more so than just receiving and eating regular food. It is the radiance and calmness of fact that I see so spiritual and peaceful. I know aging has its disadvantages, but if you are over 60 and still can move around you are indeed blessed and should help others with more active charitable help. Especially those with colon cancer, receiving Holy Communion gives them so much strength to overcome the despair in having this disease. Let us pray for the sick, persons with disability that God will listen to their prayers and that they live in hope and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

clintondyches, I have been wondering how everything went when you took the local transit to Mass last Saturday. I hope and pray that everything went well and that this will open the door to a whole new world for you.

You have a wonderful attitude. May God bless you.
