Oh, I haven't really learned anywhere! Are u by any chance thinking that I drew those images in my anime/videogame memes collection? If so, all those images are actual images from anime episodes or video games, and all I do is edit them using a graphics program called GIMP, and by edit, I mean doing things like putting a background on them, changing/manipulating the colors a bit so that it looks better/clearer and most importantly, adding a Catholic message to it! Sometimes, though, I'll use multiple images and put them all together onto one meme such as this one (this one has 6 different images from 6 different animes on it):
This is probably my favorite one, especially since I spent quite a bit of time on it. Probably around 20 hours or so on it. ^.^
Well, I meant to go to the 12:00 about 2 miles from here, but lost my car keys and had to spend 45 minutes searching for them. By the time I found them, it was too late, so I went to the 2pm Latin Mass down at San Miguel's in the city. It was really peaceful. The congregation didn't know Latin that well be respond loudly, but we went along the best we could. I'd like to go again next week, except it's a terribly long walk from the parking lot (it's a state worker's parking lot; Santa Fe is the state capital of New Mexico) but maybe I can drag my walker along with me next time. It SUX to be this weak!
Checking out a new church today. I'm looking for one where they don't sing "Happy Birthday" in church, and clap for everyone who makes an announcement. That may be somebody else's cup of tea; I'm sure the Lord does not condemn it. It's just that I find it distracting. (This describes last Sunday's church.)
Wowee Zowee--they closed the hymn thread. i think they did it out of courtesy to Ms. Cat, who seemed to be hurting. She's trying her best. If she can play the piano, that's great. If she wants to stick with Haugan and whoever those hymn writers are, okay. But if people in the congregation talk about something else, she can just tell them, "I play the piano. it has to be within the scope of that." Then so be it. I'd give her some hymns from Watts and Wellsley. Beautiful tunes, but simple ones. And Great Lyrics. And only one hymn at a time. She's got a full time job as well as other things going on in her life. Compassion!
I've decided to list myself as a "Cafeteria Catholic". That is, while I love the sacraments and cannot stay away from R.C. church because of them, I am also willing to put up with: a lot of bad music, a lot of weak sermons (Did not Papa Ratzinger have something to say about that?) hateful doctrines about homosexuality (I'm mostly gay; currently don't practice.) and I reject the teachings about birth control devices. Otherwise, I'm in.
Hoo boy! I've gone off treatment. My doctor didn't seem to think there was much value in it--I had a 10 percent chance of living another month or so longer. And a 90 Percent chance of not. And when I'm on Treatment, Life is Hell. So it's not worth all the suffereing for just another month or two.
No one knows when I'll start dying and they'll have to bring in hospice. Cancer is unpredictable. I imagine I have about a year. Hope I can find a home for darlin' Rooby if she out lasts me. She's 14 years old, but I've had kitties who've lived to be older than that. I LUV the Roobs!!
