St. JOE Sarto? I like him too. Do you know how many popes actually had the baptismal name of Joseph? The great Abrahamic name of Joseph, rife through out the Jewish, Christian and Islamic world? Two. Joe Sarto and Joe Ratzinger. Das ist alles.
Thanks for your helpful advice on how to copy/paste things on my Facebook page from here. I figured it out with a little help from my 14 year old son. lol!!! How sad is that??? I hope all is well with you, and God bless friend.
Please explain this statement that you made to my post.
"You should know, too, that addiction often lessens our culpability in committing sins because it diminishes our capacity to give complete consent." Are you saying that guilt is often not felt with an addict and therefore the act is not altogether the person giving consent because of the addiction? Sort of like someone saying I cannot help myself because I have a disease? (I have heard alcoholics use that excuse when relapsing) I can assure you in my case, personally, I am quite guilt ridden and as a practicing Catholic, I realize I need the sacraments more than ever now. It is so painful staying away and I do pray for the strength this coming Saturday to spend time with my parish preist in reflection and confession. It is quite embarrasing, humiliating really, but without I will clearly keep going down the wrong road. Plz if you can find the time, explain that sentence to me so I don't get the wrong impression that you do not understand?
Thank you kindly.
The more I follow the online discussions ... the more I follow the debates and disagreements in the Church about administrative unity, or the concerns expressed about the moral or personal or administrative or leadership failings of the bishops or the clergy, the more I become convinced that whatever might be the truth of these concerns, ALL of this is simply a distraction. No, itís more than that. Itís a justification, an excuse, for not helping each other and those outside the Church fall in love with Jesus Christ. How easy it is to talk about everything, but about Jesus hardly at all.
