Fran, what a beautiful and generous message. If I can only manage to cut through some of the misleading verbiage, to illumine some of the neutral facts free from politicization, I hope I will have done some good. My broader hope is to have professionals in these fields (not just Catholic professionals) take a more visible lead in this effort. Some of the current moral issues out there I am convinced could have been influenced by Catholics in the fields of psychology, medicine, and law, before reaching the crisis points we now see. In heavily political environments such as the U.S., rhetoric reigns. He who is not alert to and assertive against that, at every step, risks struggling for credibility later. God Bless You.
