My father is 88 years old and I am going to speak with him about the validity of his marriage. The scenario is as follows....

He, a Catholic, married a Protestant woman in a Protestant wedding without express permission to marry her and without the dispensation of form. Are they validly/sacramentally married? If not, then am I correct that he committed the following grave sins?

    1. Not receiving the express permission and dispensation.
    2. Engaging in subsequent sexually relations with her
    3. Receiving communion while in this state.

Also, they received a civil divorce only which, if they are not validly married in the first place would be a moot point, right?

    Thank you.

    Miss peggy..
I answered my own question of freemasons earlier thanks to search engines online.
I am a eucharistic minister and have been offering sharing the sacrement with a homebound man[elderly] who claims he is a freemason affter weeks of home visits, why he came forward now only the holy spirit knows..I knew masons esp freemasons could not receive from my own study, but i would like to know without buying his book why freemasons are excommunicated pope John Paul and several other holy fathers..i seek the reasons 1-10 since i must go back next week and offer an explanation why,i do not have to but maybe it is something the man can resolve by reconsiliation which if he has been a freemason for 40 years ,well i dont know as it goes iut is GODS work not mine...any input?
    thanks....william

    re; Charity and Alcoholics
What does our church teach about enabling vs. helping alcoholics and others persons addicted to things? I've attended alanon meetings for 6 years. Alanon teaches 'LET GO AND LET GOD'. I do pray for my brother everyday. It is just so difficult to discern between helping one to meet his basic needs and feeding the addiction.

The job of a priest is to administer the Sacrements. And, to obey the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and earth. In everything She says, in everything She wants you to do. So, why don't the priests and Bishops and Popes obey Our Lady of Fatima and consecrate Russia, specifically, to Her Immaculate Heart?

I just read an article by a theolgian conte that says certain sexual acts between married couples are wrong .Itts upset me as I have been married for forty years and had no idea that I was committing sin.Is it wrong to fondle your spouse genitals during before or after sex.Sometimes I cuddle and tickle my husbands whole body just for fun.I have a problrm climaxing vaginally so if I need manual clitoral stimulation like many women do to complete the act is it mortal sin.now I;m scatred each conjugal act is going to be an occasion of mortal sin

I want to know what the Church's stance is regarding the Health Care Reform debate, specifically what a Catholic is to do if "indeed" the final law contains provisions where taxpayers will be forced to subsidize abortions, either directly or indirectly.

I will not fund an abortion in any way shape or form, so if this provision does exist, I will not remit my federal income taxes or a portion thereof.

    What would the Church say?

Please send response to Tom Voiland at tvoiland@catholicandconservative.com
