Oh Now I know what the NPD thread is and thank you so much for prayers. I said a prayer for you too---I know how difficult it is for a kid to be raised around someone with NPD as you were. My son has pulled through it well although does not want anything to do with his dad mostly because his dad doesn't want anything to do with him (or me). I prayed on that for a very long time but came to the conclusion that maybe God really doesn't want my son to be hurt anymore by his dad, that there really are much better role models in close proximity for him to emmulate. He has received more kindness from neighbors. Sad really but acceptable. God has moved both of us in a much dofferent direction. We are both doing very well and are quite content with life.
Cool. I hope you post often. You'll find I deleted the Saints devotions recently. Someone else said they make the site seem too Catholic. BTW, I should let you know that I have Asperger's syndrome, which is a slight version of autism.
I'm not really sure. If you were to ask me if IM-ing was intrinsically bad/evil/wrong, I'd answer "no". However, I believe it could (possibly) reinforce some bad habits. There's some things people say online that they wouldn't say to someone's face AT ALL. (I've found that out by surfing sites like Youtube + GameTrailers and...personal experience.)
I don't think that it's bad in itself. But proceed with caution.
