A confession I need to make: The Pope, as the rightful successor to the Keys of the Church from St Peter, does in fact have Universal Jurisdiction. Christ had a reason to appoint St Peter with this responsibility and Christ has a reason for having it's continuation in the Church of Rome. Therefore it would not be right to do away with it to somehow try to make things work out better some other way in the Church, as this attempt would be putting man's wisdom above the wisdom of God. Christ said once to Peter, "Get behind me Satan!" I too need to get behind Christ and be a 'follower' of Him, not try to lead Him!

"More ecumenical" could be good, or it could be bad. The Antiochian Orthodox are open to the miaphysite view because of agreements made with the Oriental Orthodox. To me this is good ecumenism, but admittedly, the Russians would say that it is bad.

    Dear brother JohnVIII,

I was just wondering, if you don't mind my asking - how do you balance Antiochene Orthodoxy with Russian Orthodoxy, since the Antiochene's seem to be more ecumenical than their ROC brethren?

    Blessings
