This question is for Fr. Vincent Serpa, O.P. regarding the reason why a person is not allowed to receive Holy Communion ...? The reply is:" It's not just a matter of keeping some arbitrary rules. The fact is that the Church does not recognize the validity of your current marriage and so every time you have relations you are committing a mortal sin. If you live in a celibate way until your marriage is blessed, then you may go to Confession and receive Holy Communion right away." Now, these God creatures have not lived in a celibate way, suppose they have had sexual relations. What is to be done with these cuople now: allowed to receive Holy Communion after their confession or not(and they have committed a mortal sin?...). The answer be linked with facts, not in the way "if you understand". Thanks in advance: kallogjeri
