Colmcille, Thanks for contacting me. I was beginning to feel a little lost out there. Being a new member,I'm still not too sure how this whole thing works, but I'll give it a try! Funny you should mention John the Baptist. I have often wondered the same thing about Mary. If you knew from the beginning that your child was going to die, would you be able to go through with it? I think about it a lot. I guess if we knew in advance what we were going to be asked to do, we wwould live our lives being terrified - at least I would. Six years ago, our beautiful 24 year old daughter died after a 4 year battle with cancer. I saw and experienced things during that time that I wouldn't wish on any parent. Had I known before I got pregnant with her that this would be her fate, could I have gone ahead with it anyway? For the record, I loved every minute I had with her and am a better person for having had her in my life. Still, I wonder how Mary did it Anyway, thanks for reaching out to me. God Bless you and yours.
Carmel Quail,
Niceto hear from one who has read Left To Tell. I heard the lady speak in great detail of her ordeal on EWTN a few years ago. I intend to get the book and share it. It should be widely read. My questionin my mind lately is, would John the Baptist do it all over again? In other words if he were to know his end, would he stick to his convictions? I know he would, but wonder if there is much of that kind of conviction around today. Left to Tell should bolster my faith in Faith. Bless you, too! Colmcille
