Greetings Angel: This is a great place to be isn't it. You asked about papal succession being broken during the Middle Ages. Actually, keep in mind, popes die and between the death of one pope to the time of the new one, the See of Peter has no pope. The papacy includes Apostolic Succession which can not be broken, ever, but the papacy is an office which isn't filled until a new pope comes on the scene after the death of the last one. Take care and God bless. Fr. Bill
