I've been really sick lately with Bronchitis on top of Asthma. Thankfully I think I am slowly starting to get better even though today is just my second day of treatment. Other than that, I am doing alright. Thanks for asking!
Hi Steve, thanks for letting me know about the book
You are right in saying the Marian consecration is helpful. I have found having done it to be extremely helpful also. I tried recommending it to a friend but he has fear saying I heard you have more spiritual attacks. He is right in a way as the book doe ls mention that Mary gifts us with crosses, but covers them with her sweetness she makes our crosses easier to bear and that suffering we may face people who have not done this could not handle!!
Also I must say that thanks be to God, Mary, Joseph, the Angels and Saints, things are really getting a lot better for me health wise. I have just got a dr who is going to help me with my health and is supportive of my ambition to become a nun. So that is really great!!
Also do you ever attend the Latin Mass? I have been finding it to be extremely helpful in my life some how my mind is clearer when I attend the Latin Mass. I have been thinking if it is Gods will that I may try join the Carmel in the desert in Nebraska where they celebrate the TLM 6 days a week. I already sent a letter but mentioned my health issue and I receieved a letter back stating they could not have me. But I am thinking that once my health is all clear I think that I will send another letter of interest and mentioning that my health is better and cleared. As they say "it pays to perservere". After all dearest Therese even went to the Pope!!
Hi there. I read some parts from a book called "Philokalia on prayer of the heart" it's writings from Greek Fathers who were hermits.I found that things about avoiding the passions to be quite interesting.
I think I will also read more from "The Imitation of Christ" one of St. Thereses favorites (I think she memorized the whole book) another great book I studied in my spirituality class that I bought a few months back is "Abandonment to Divine Providence" it certainly is a must read and is about living in the present moment and abandoning yourself to the will of God. Sorry and another book I have been reading is called "I believe in Love a personal retreat based on the teaching of St. Therese" http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1928832288 that is a really good and helpful book!!
