My niece was Catholic but changed her religion some time ago. She is getting married soon to a young man who is a different faith. I don't think they are getting married in the Catholic Church. What do i need to ask, and is it wrong for me to go to their wedding.
Catholics picked books that are the bible. How do we know that we picked the books to fit our religion. I'm just wondering in case this question comes to me how would I answer it. Thank you and God bless
Im a new catholic with a chronic health condition. Can you recommend any easy to read books on the value of suffering? I don't know the theology about redemptive suffering, how is my pain useful to God?
I purchased a Rosary prayer book from Father Peyton. I prayed the Sorrowful mysteries today. ***correction***The last meditation of this mystery (The dying on the cross) reads: The gate of heaven has a cross for a key. It is Jesus who forged the key.
I work at a local Catholic Charities. We do the paperwork for those in the US illgegally (or those outside the country) to gain legal status based on a relationship to a US citizen or legal permanent resident. For example, if a US citizen marries a foreigner we can assist in obtaining legal status for the wife or husband. Following the Supreme Court case, the Dept of Homeland Security moved very quickly to make such benefits available to men who "marry" men and women who "marry" women in states where laws make this arrangement legal. What is my moral responsibility if I handle such a case? By Supreme Court fiat, all federal benefits are now available to people of the same sex who are "married." This includes immigration benefits.
