continued: My wife works part time for minimum wage and tips. She is quitting because its too hard for her physically. Last year I took a job delivering pizzas - that's a minimum wage job, man! I also got tips occasionally, but not always. The pizza job helped me pay off a loan, then I quit. The best strategy is to have funds coming from atleast two or three sources if at all possible, instead of just relying on wages. I will probably take another part time job to pay off some newly acquired debts as well as medical expenses. The battle never ends.
Understand the difficulties in trying to get to the point that you're earning enough money to make a living and support a family. I used to make more money when I was in management in the company I work for, but when I had to move (relocate) I stepped down and took a pay cut (a lateral move was not available). We were able to sell our house and buy a smaller house, much older with all sorts of problems, but with a detached room that we rent out.
