That's great! I wish I could be there to see their faces. He retired from Civil Defense, but I think he's still over CAP. I'll try to remember to check that out and let you know. I'm really glad you're getting to do this; it's a great program.

I haven't told Col. Conerly yet but I convinced my grandmother to let me rejoin Mockingbird Squadron! I won't be able to rejoin til July, but I'm still getting to rejoin and I'm very excited about it.

    Hello Everyone,
I am here in Aiken, South Carolina from Michigan. It has been 5 years since the move. I can relate to some of the mesages as I have not been asked recently, "Do you have a church?" and "bless your heart". Looking forward to some good discussions!

I read your post in God Grief. It's a year this week since my Dad died.
My thoughts and prayers for you and your daughter. As I sit at my desk, I have a lovely photo of my Dad smiling down at me with his twinkling eyes, and one of my mother looking so sweet and innocent...she died young. They are always with us. We think of them so often, don't we. May God bless you.

While attending the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), in Oxford, Ms., I became very good friends with a guy from a town in north Miss. On weekends I would go with him to his home. Being a devout Catholic from New Orleans, La. I would always attend mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church, and then join my friend, his family, and others at the Church of the Nazarene. Everyone knew I was Catholic, and treated me like I was part of the family....even though I was always "late" for services! They NEVER tried to "convert" me! It was more of a "big deal" that I was from New Orleans than a Catholic. It's the same way, even to this day, when I go for a visit ! What really got interesting were the "discussions" that took place in my dorm room, on campus, during the week! With people from all over the world, but especially from the South, and every religious denomination you can think of, there were some "very intense" debates! I loved it !
    Yours in Christ,
    Michael
