Opus Dei in VA or DC??

HI,

I moved to Arlington, Virginia a few weeks ago and was hoping to join Opus Dei meetings here or in Washington, DC. I started attending Opus Dei recollections and had an OD regular confessor/spiritua; director when I was in the Philippines but need to find a new one now. The only lead I had to the OD group is with a priest who hasn;t responded to my emails. Can anyone help??

Wow - I had a brain cramp - I was answering as if the question had been asked by Bear06. The Catholic Information Center will still do for you - I just don't have the day and time for the men's events. But you can go to confession any day and make arrangements for direction. I understand there's a great bookstore there, also. The website is www.cicdc.org.

Bit of DC trivia: Robert Philip Hanssen, the treasonous FBI agent who spied for the Soviets, was an Opus Dei supernumerary who used to attend Mass there.

It's amazing how much people can compartmentalize their interior life, huh?

That's a sad, sad case.

Doesn't that just blow your mind??? The guy was (presumably) going to confession every week. And every time, he had a chance to come clean, and stop, and turn away, and never do it again. Instead, he chose to keep betraying his country, family and friends over and over again, and to pile up sacriligious confessions one upon another.

When God gave us free will, He really meant it...

Margaret
