| RSS Feeds Rather than visit multiple Web pages every day to read new content, many Web users are using RSS newsreaders to pull fresh content right to their desktop! What is RSS? As commonly defined, RSS (an acronym for Really Simple Syndication) is "a group of XML-based web-content distribution and republication (Web syndication) formats primarily used by news sites and weblogs (blogs)." Essentially, an RSS feed is a file that resides on a content provider's server which your RSS newsreader periodically checks. As content is updated in the file, your RSS reader pulls new headlines, content, URLs, and other information. Need RSS software? To get started, you'll need to download and install a free RSS newsreader client. Many are available (some as browser extensions); see Google's list here Already set up for RSS? Point your RSS newsreader to a url below to see new topics at CAF. |
