Growing like a Boom Town
This forum has grown so fast it is like a boom town. And I am starting to feel lost trying to find anything in the town.
I would suggest maybe we need more major sections to help narrow down the number of threads per section.
Some suggestions I though of would b
Saints
Church History
Canon Law and Doctrine (separate from the apologist section)
Current News Issues - other than politics
Vatican -
Books, Movies, TV Discussions
Chit Chat (for those who just like to chit chat)
Anyone else have any suggestions?

YES! Very good idea.
And yes, I would like to see one for Charismatics.
This is a ligitimate movement in the Church, numbering many many thousands. We do not have a forum and need one.

Good idea
Maybe one for Traditional Latin Mass separate from Liturgy since that seems to get quite a bit of discussion too.

Not to dissuade you from your charismatic mission in any way but Charismatics are Catholics: we should see their input along with the rest of Catholics in Liturgy, Doctrine, etc. If the board makes a separate foder for them, then we have 1,000,001 other apostolates, groups, movements within the church, etc. which have a right to ask for their own folder - the forum just can't accomodate it and the other point is, Catholics with no exposure to Charismatics will never go there. I should think perhaps that by being "out and among" the subject folder, people will become more familiar with the movement and people like yourself as the subject warrants, can interject your views and tell the rest of us about them.

I see your point Sophia - I was initially trying to have more subcategories so we would not have to wade through so much to find the areas that interested us most.

I think the problem I have in "finding" stuff is posters don't label their threads clearly enough so you can judge WHAT the thing is about or they just drop a link with no message and you haven't a clue - and of course those who refuse to read the explanations provided so that they post in the correct folder in the first place. (sigh)

Re: Growing like a Boom Town
Greetings
I see your point as well.
There is one reason why I would ask for a Charismatic discussion if other new ones were added because of growing membership.
Being Charismatic, in a board that is obviously, very Traditional (for lack of a better description), this type of apostolate is often not accepted as being in the mainstream of the Church. Most other groups and movements, Marian prayer groups, for instance are much more likely to be accepted.
I have been on other websites such as this one for many years and even though Charismatics have requested a separate forum, which by the way would attract other Charismatics to join the site (there is nothing out there for Catholic Charismatics), nothing is ever provided.
I still would like to see this added and I agree that as the site grows, it would be good to have things broken down more.

Re: Growing like a Boom Town
Excellent suggestion. More sub-forums would make life easier.
The "Miscellaneous" forum is so large and cluttered one needs a whole afternoon to search through it. I know the administrators must be overloaded with all the traffic--and I hope my suggestion can be considered.
Have all threads sent in the first instance to an administrator, who would then choose the sub-forum to place it in, or who could create a new sub-forum if that would be warranted. This person could also combine threads that are virtually the same to avoid duplication.
