Default What book are you currently reading & what will you read next?

Just curious as to what books are being read by Catholics and Non. I'm currently reading Crossing the Tiber by Steven Ray and plan on reading Mere Christianity by CS Lewis next.

I am reading the Gospel of Matthew as a part of a 24 week bible study with Jeff Cavins. I am also reading Vol. 4 of the Philokalia. I hope to start Thomas' Shorter Summa after that.

I am reading "Life is Worth Living" by Bishop Fulton Sheen - I guess basically the transcripts from the TV show - but so very touching....
don't have anything queued up after that.....but I am a lot like Fidelis...lots of magazines, etc. lying around to be read.

Missa

I am currently reading the Unmasking of Oscar Wilde. Apparently, Wilde is the poster child of homosexuality of the gay community. The author, Pearce, makes the point that all of Wilde's writings are Catholic in nature and that Wilde considered his homosexuality as deviant behavior. Wilde, who courted becoming a Catholic in his early adult years, converted on his deathbed.

I'm taking a break from my reading of C.S. Lewis's sci-fi trilogy (very heady material!), and am reading the Star Wars: New Jedi Order series. Talk about a difference in writing!

I just picked up yesterday The Drive Factor: Getting Your Life in Gear for the 7 Areas That Matter Most
by Rick Sarkisian

I'll start it tonight or tomorrow & be done over the weekend. It's not a real big book but it looks interesting.

Peace to all,
Deacon Scott

I am currently reading The DaVinci Hoax, by Carl Olsen and Sandra Miesel, and Understanding The Dead Sea Scrolls, edited by Hershel Shanks. I hope to also finish reading The Rapture: The Endtime Fiction That Leaves Truth Behind, by David Curie as well.

Afte that, I have a couple of books on my nightstand: Letters From Gabriel, by Karen Santorum and The Last Four Things: Heaven, Hell, Purgatory and Judgement, by Fr. Michael Cochen. After that I would like to re-read The Rapture Trap by Paul Thigpen. All this while trying to finish the Bible study Our Father's Plan, a couple of magazines and loose internet articles, and listening to three books on tape (Well, one can't read ALL the time ).

Currently, What's wrong with the world?, by Chesterton, and Las Moradas, by St. Teresa.

In the queue: Story of a Soul, by St. Therese, Sts. Thomas Aquinas and Francis of Assissi, by Chesterton, Dark nights of the Soul, by St. John of the Cross, The Life of St. Teresa, by St. Teresa, The way of Perfection, by St. Teresa.

Then, there are the books in my wish list at Amazon...
