A comic-strip version of the life of Pope John Paul II written by three Frenchmen has been published in the ailing pontiff's homeland Poland, the book's publisher said.

The French are such an enigma. As a whole, they are the most secular humanistic society on earth, and the roots of the "Enlightenment" and secular humanism are found in France. Yet, on the flip, some the Church's most distinguished saints are from France. Makes a pretty good case against generalizing and pre-judging people because of their nationality. The same country that gave us Jean-Paul Sartre also gave us St. Therese of Lisieux.
