Default Meet And Greet #21

Welcome to CAF!

Tell us a little about yourself. For newcomers, just click the "Post Reply" button in the bottom left corner of the thread. A post reply page will then appear. Type your message and hit submit reply.

Feel free to then wander around and check things out.

Again, thanks for joining us here at Catholic Answers Forums.

May God bless you and yours,
........................................

p.p.s., Want to start a new conversation ("thread")? Here's how it's done:
  1. Find the appropriate forum that covers your topic. There's a list on CAF's home page.
  2. Enter the forum by clicking its name. You will then see a list of ongoing conversations.
  3. Look for the "New Thread" button at the top of this list of conversations. Click it to start your own topic.
  4. You will then see a standard text editor. Just enter a title and a description of what you want to talk about. Click "submit" and you're all done.

Hello. I'm new to this so just bare with me while I get the hang of things. We've been converts since '94. Hopefully I'll get the answers i need while I'm here. It's been a bumby road along the way but through prayer and answers I know that we'll make. Thank you for letting me join.

God Bless,

Welcome to the Catholic Answers Forums, Celeste. I think you're going to enjoy spending time here with us. There are many people here who are also converts. There's even a thread here just for converts you might want to visit. It does take a little time to figure things out around here. But I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time.

Hi all,

I have been a silent admirer of tha CAF for almost ten years. I started out with the Catholic-Convert forum, then expanded to Dave Armstrong's, Mark Shea's and a few others.

I have found the fora mentioned above and this one to be very educative as far as the authenticity of the Catholic Church is concerned.

My first foray into these fora was triggered by a constant challenge be a fundamentalist Baptist family of my then girl friend. They are pesky and can quote the Bible very well. Fora have helped me have a fighting chance. They (fora) have also helped me feel comfortable with the teaching of the Catholic Church. After cruising through a couple, it is difficult to meander into other beliefs.

I would recommend anyone to join at least a couple.

Keep up the good work.

Hi, I am Peter Burns from Durban,KZN in South Africa. I am married with two children and we are all catholic. We attend the parish of Bellair-Queensburgh( St Patricks & St Catherines). I am on the RCIA team and my wife is a catechist. We feel that knowledge of our faith is a life long learning curve, and this is the reason for my joining. Also to share our catholic experiences. God bless, Peter.

Welcome to the Catholic Answers Forums, Peter. -- I'm glad you've come here to join us. Your family sounds lovely. I also think it's great that you're involved with RCIA. I think everyone here is still learning alot about their faith. That's part of the reason we're here. We also want to meet some people who are also in pursuit of growing in their faith as well. May God continue to bless you and your family, now and always.

Kathy

Hey, I'm Wyatt. I'm 20 years old...and I have been Catholic for one year now. I started RCIA in 2006 and was confirmed on April 7, 2007...a few days before my 19th birthday. I am also a member of Catholic Community Forum...if any of you happen to also be members of that online community you may have seen me before.

Growing up Protestant, we tended to "church hop" quite a bit, so I got exposed to a lot of different doctrines. This, at the time, felt like a curse because it really left me confused as far as what I really believed. Luckily, I think it was this frustration and longing to find the truth that led me to the Catholic Church. It feels good to be home.

Welcome to the Catholic Answers Forums, Wyatt. -- I'm glad you came here to join us. I'm also sure you'll come back here often. After so much "church hopping" over the years, it seems to me that this would be a good place for a bit of stability. Please come back here often. There is also alot of fun that goes on around here. Just check out some of the forums and find out for yourself.

Kathy

Dear Ones.
This is my first time writing to someone I don't know.....my children will probably be upset, but I feel it is a site I could ask something if I needed to. The environment is out there ,and we love the Eucharist ...
.I had a stroke, for a better word, and our children got us a computer for my therapy. Never wanted one and don'y type.
My husband was a coach, taught History and moved to an administrator position , as one of our 8 became ill.
She is now married and has 4 children...a miracle, (He retired after 42 years.) We have 20 grandchildren and one great..

We are on our Journey of Faith. God has made us aware of many blessings, and the Sacrament of the Moment... In His Quiet Joy, nana
