Oh NO!! Please need prayers
I just found out that the wierd rash I have had on my torso is Pityriasis Rosea. The good news is that it isn't contagious, doesn't itch (too much) and isn't caused by my animals.
The bad news, there is no treatment but to let it run its course of 6 weeks to 6 months.
It looks horrible, I feel like a monster. And I am not allowed to have my twice weekly massage until it heals
Maybe with some serious prayer this thing will clear up sooner. Now is not the time for something like this, I have been looking for a job, and I either have to wear a turtleneck or hope they don't notice the big red splotches all over my neck.
So please pray for a speedy recovery, and maybe that I find a job soon too!
Thanks

Sorry about what you're going through -- prayers that it heals up quickly and that you find a great job soon.

Re: Oh NO!! Please need prayers
My son had this several years ago and it didn't take 6 months to go away. It was probably a month or so, though. You might be able to cover it a bit with makeup or certainly wear turtlenecks, if that makes you feel more confident!
Praying for your healing and quick recovery AND for you to land a job soon.

Re: Oh NO!! Please need prayers
more than 20 years ago, my mom had this. i remember her case was remarkable in that she had three herald spots on her torso.
she was in misery except for many oatmeal baths.
despite how itchy it was, it lasted a long time, but not the whole summer as was foretold.

I am so sorry you have this.
I am so jealous you get twice weekly massages.
May I take them over for you while you recuperate?

If only you were closer. DH is a massage therapist, so I get lots of (theraputic) massages. Except they will make this rash worse so none for a bit.
I am hoping for a quick recovery. DR said average is 6-12 weeks.

Wow, 3 herald spots! I had Pityriasis Rosea several years ago but I only had it on my torso in areas covered by a shirt and mine wasn't that itchy so it wasn't a major problem for me. I guess I had a mild version because it wasn't too pronounced.
I am so sorry it is causing you problems mommamia, I hope it goes away soon for you. I am pretty sure mine didn't last that long either (definitely not 6 months, I think more along the lines of a couple weeks). I just looked it up on webmd and they say it usually lasts 6 to 8 weeks, so hopefully you will only have it for a couple of weeks. I had never heard of it until I was told it was what I had.
