The Holy Rule of Saint Benedict - Chapter 7
Of Humility

February 7 - June 8 - October 8

The tenth degree of humility is, when a monk is not easily moved and quick for laughter, for it is written: "The fool exalteth his voice in laughter" (Sir 21:23).

Ora et Labora (Pray and Work)
"Glory be to the Father . . . and to the Son . . . and to the Holy Spirit . . . "

Question Re: The Holy Rule of St. Benedict : Chapter 7 - Reflections for: February 7 - June 8 - October 8

I often watch some of these sketches caricaturing the Church, Liturgy, Priests and so on. I sometimes giggle, I have a good laugh.

But afterwards I feel guilty. Do you think the Lord might not appreciate it? Do you think it offends the Church? What would St Benedict think of it, as he is the one I love most after God, and Mary.
Shall I restrict my way of laughing? Shall I find another way of laughing?

I even borrowed some comicstrips with sometimes very bad humour, dirty, but still funny. I sometimes skipped pages, when twas too rude. By the end I went to confession because I thought it wasn't the best way of laughing.

I always strain myself, and I need to relax, so I'm looking for good ways of laughing, without kidding around.
