Tomorrow is weigh in day for me. My start weight was 167 now I'm at 159. I started November 1st and my goal is 145 by January 15th. I was off to a good start but sort of hit that wall last week where I just wasn't very motivated. I only worked out 2 days last week and I frequently fulfilled my pizza/fry food/cola addiction. I'm sure it will be a gain. Why is this so hard???????

It's so hard because the junk in that type of food is addictive, and loaded with processed junk. The processed junk doesn't break down like 'real food' does, and stores as fat.
Instead of ordering pizza out, make it at home, with stuff you know isn't processed. Instead of soda, try juicing some raw fruit/veggies... fried stuff, just stay away.
In order to lose weight, and keep it off, you can't just stop eating the junk for a time and when you hit your goal go back to it, or you'll be doing this all your life.. you need to find alternatives for life.
If you do mess up though, don't let it get your down, just start over tomorrow

I agree Rachel...

Welcome to you, marie! My husband and I did the south beach and a combination of atkins many years ago. While I don't think any of us need to be that strict, it taught me a lot about carbs, good and bad, and how our bodies process them...and how our brains react to carbs. I look at ''bad'' carbs as begetting more bad carbs. Why it is ''so hard,'' I think is that when we eat pizza say, the next day we naturally want more...our brains are releasing enzymes to cause us to be tempted to eat more! I was very surprised reading that...I also love ''the zone'' diet, although I hate the word ''diet,'' lol because it trains your mind to make sure you're getting the right carbs, and enough protein and so forth throughout your day. We are praying that you'll not be tempted marie...God's with us, we can do this! God bless you and hope to read more here from you.
