Re: End Times Speculation XII
Hi, All!
First to post after the introduction.
Let's see, an active Supervolcano at Yellowstone National Park; Karakatoa regrowing in Indonesia; those are tectonic precursors. For either one to blow would blast this planet at the very least back to the Bronze Age. More and more political pressure being applied to Israel. Atheism on the spread all over the globe. The Al-Qeuda jihad regaining steam; the Muslim Brotherhood looking at opportunities in North Africa and the Near East to take over revolutions in many countries; so what I call the New World Caliphate Jihad is running smoothly. A Demagouge and his Cabinet and his 40 bureaucratic Czars in charge of our country. World economy still staggering. A technocracy extending more and more around this planet.
Yes, these are the end times, for something. I think that the fig tree in Jesus' parable about the season of the times is beginning to bud, yes indeedy.
God loves all of you,
Don

Everyone in a State of Grace? I believe this Easter-and Divine Mercy Sunday will, as always, be special. Some say this with a sense of urgency.
This Sunday-is Palm Sunday!
Pentecost is June 12th! Wow. Seems so late this year!
On another note---this would be cool to participate in (below).
Holy Easter Saturday, and the Miracle of Holy Fire at the Church of the Resurrection will be on April 26th this year:

God Bless you.

I didn't know you were inclined to Eastern Orthodoxy Dawn as the Holy Fire is tradition fo the Eastern Orthodox Churches. The Orthodox Church teaches (as that article points) out that Holy Fire can not be lit by members of the Roman Church.
Easter is always special and unique. No more or less so this year than any other.

Re: End Times Speculation XII
Confirmation: LEAST evident sacrament, but MOST important at end of world!
God ALLOWED and INVITED Faustina to suffer for souls.
Jesus said to one mystic, He will not be satisfied until the cup of the blood of the martyrs is overflowing. For this reason, the persecutions of Antichrist will be incomprehensible. For when science is mature, they will understand how to inflict the worst tortures that even now do not exist. How much more will those who truly fear God in the age of Catholic peace rush with vehemence to the Sacrament of Confirmation: the least evident sacrament in Scripture, but what will prove to be the most decisive: some mystics have put it this way: toward the end of time, when the world is about to fall into the irrevocable apostasy, the Catholic faithful will start to grow lax and not confirm their children, saying, "it is not necessary for salvation" [which is admittedly true, since only baptism or its desire is absolutely necessary for salvation]. And yet, who, if they desire all power and help to persevere in love of God, knowing that if they die without it shall perish eternally, would NOT seek out all possible graces they could to avert this permanent tragedy.
So then, these mystics prophesy: those that, like the wise virgins who bring extra oil, in this case, the oil of Chrism, the seven special strengthening gifts of the Holy Spirit for the adult struggle towards salvation, receive Confirmation, shall, in majority, have the grace to endure these unfathomable persecutions of antichrist, endure martyrdom and so obtain the crown Our Savior speaks of in Apocalypse letter, whereas of those that, like the unwise virgins, the ones who do not bring extra chrism, do not, they shall in counterpart majority be cowards before antichrist, apostatize, and perish in eternal fire!
Therefore, in fact, like St. Paul said, that the least known and smallest of members of the Body of Christ can eventually be the most important, so it seems it will happen that the sacrament that is hardly veiled in Scripture, being very obscure in the Sacred Writings, which is so why it would certainly be the first a heretic would say, "this is no sacrament, it is no where in the Bible, not even implied!", in fact becomes the distinguishing condition that separates the sheep from the goats in the final days of human history!

Re: End Times Speculation XII
Hi dawn,I just watched that end times video you posted the link to on end times XI.
I noticed a correlation between a Jewish feast and an important day in the Catholic church.
The feast of Tabernacles this year is the same day as the Fatima miracle of the sun!
On a personal note, next year in 2012 Passover is celebrated on the anniversary of my baptism into the Catholic faith!
God bless all!

Dawn, thanks for starting the new thread! I sure miss having internet access at home, but it helps to think of it as a fast.
cj, just to toot my own horn, but I'm the one who posted the link to the video. I had a couple of thoughts while watching it. The first was remembering an article I read last month about a priest from India (?) who had been working among the Sudanese as a doctor, who died a few years back of cancer at a young age. I believe he's being considered for sainthood, and there are some who are attributing the mostly peaceful voting and transfer of people to south Sudan to his intercession in heaven. Let's hope their leaders remember the warning and don't get involved with the Muslim nations in attacking Israel.
My second thought has to do with the zodiac symbols. I'm very much inclined to believe in his interpretation for a simple reason, summed up in one word: precession.
The names, positions, and dates of the zodiac constellations were set over 3,000 years ago. However, due to a slight "wobble" in the Earth's orbit, called "precession", the positions of the constellations don't match up with the dates assigned to them. If there were a solar eclipse at sunrise in the first week of August, so you could see the constellations, the sun would be in Virgo, NOT Leo. It would not have been possible for someone writing 3,000 years ago to predict this, because of all the changes to the calendars over the centuries; it would be no problem at all for G_D to arrange for this to occur.
And I'm thinking that co-incidence (two things occurring at the same time) of Sukkot occurring on the anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun is amazing! Sukkot is also called the Feast of Tents, the Feast of Booths, or the Feast of Tabernacles. It recalls how the Jews wandered in the desert, living their tents (tabernacles). At the same time, their G_D, HaShem, dwelt among them, in their midst, in the Tent of Meeting. The translation used in the Mass reads, "And the Word was made Flesh and dwelt among us." However, the literal meaning of the phrase is "the Word was made Flesh and tabernacled among us"! And Mary, the Ark of the New Covenant, was the Tabernacle for G_D as He prepared to be born to live among His People.
Now if only I can convey this wonder to my Protestant friends who are convinced that the Miracle of the Sun was a) done by aliens, or b) a demonic manifestation to make people think it was done by aliens and so lead G_D's people away from faith in Him.
I'm going in. Wish me luck.

Re: End Times Speculation XII
Affirming the Beautiful Gifts that Protestants DO have! <3
Despite my occasional doctrinal critiques, I wish NO ill will toward good Protestant Christians. They in many ways give such greater witness to God's love than some many Catholics who disgrace God by their lukewarmness or even blatant defiance of morals that are clearly wrong even from the BIBLE, let alone Catholic teaching. Now, the Catholic Church believes that Jesus can save a baby though, and give it grace before it knows anything, in baptism. But the baby might grow up and not raised or taught to love Jesus, in which case they eventually lose that salvation. But I agree that if someone never was Baptized, and they come to repentance, absolutely, they need to repent to be able to receive the Holy Spirit. Although, in the Catholic faith, when they repent and place faith in Jesus, that is like getting ENGAGED to Jesus, but they don't MARRY Jesus till Baptism. But if they die before baptism through no fault of their own, then Jesus can give them grace in a special sense. And I believe that if a baby is baptized but grows up to never know Jesus cuz the parents never teach it right, or if it falls away of its sin, they can be reconciled to Jesus, by repentance. For a Catholic, that could happen immediately if they are perfectly sorry for everything and love God. Or if they are only afraid of Hell, but not yet perfect love, they would need to go to confession to be restored to Jesus.
But we rejoice in what we have in common with our separated brothers and sisters.
Bottom line for a Catholic: only those that, moved by God's grace, seek to know, love and serve God and neighbor, by His saving power, can in the end be given the free gift of heaven. And faith in Jesus is necessary for those who culpably know of Him.
Also, I will say, Baptism or the desire for it is the only thing that is necessary for Salvation.
A good Christian who is not Catholic is still pleasing to Jesus if they follow their conscience. In our Catholic belief, we believe that Protestant Christians usually have valid Baptism and Marriage as sacraments, even if they don't believe that Marriage is a Sacrament. We believe that ANY baptized Christian who takes a spouse is living in the real symbolism of Jesus and His Bride and so is given those special graces throughout their whole lives in a real SACRAMENT, and that every time this loving man and woman come together in the most intimate act of Marriage, relations, they are RENEWING the marriage covenant! <3
That is why the Catechism rejoices in the salvation that Jesus pours out in the Protestant communities through baptism, the Holy Bible, and the holy marriages therefrom. We are trying to move closer together and use what wonderful love of God and graces and truth we have in common to work together to bring this fallen away world back to Jesus and His Love, so that salvation may be restored.
We have a common enemy, and it is this apostate world that does not care about God in ANY sense, and that doesn't even care about what is true in religion or to obey it. Living in sex promiscuity, killing the babies they don't want from this, killing the elderly because they don't want to sacrifice to take care of them, living for vain amusements like sports and video games and immoral music, instead of living to love God. Being materialistic, heaping up debts from things they haven't worked for, and not giving to Church and the poor.
The world needs Jesus and God more than ever, and God bless you, holy Bible Christians, we are coming together as Christians to work for renewal!
Sadly, the Catholic Church in the West parts of culture has done a real poor job of teaching their children the faith. Very poor formation. Sadly, alot of Catholics as consequence are like "baptized non-believers", in that they are practically pagans. They live together in sin before marriage, don't really care about loving God, and just treat their faith like a hobby. That is why, I rejoice that so many good Protestant Christians are such a better disciple of Jesus in their total and personal relationship with Jesus, their strong desire to read and understand the Bible as best as they can, and to always seek God's loving help to be faithful to what they believe they find.
They really put the majority of Catholics in this country to SHAME! I would rather live in a house of devout and holy and loving Protestants with whom I disagree on some doctrines than live with "Catholics" who don't care about God and would rather watch sports than pray or learn about God!

That was awesome!
I've grown weary of Catholic message boards where the Protestant christian is seen as a heretic preaching a false gospel and leading souls to Hell!

Hurry. (You're like our girls). Wednesday is the last day.
Once the Triduum begins, the only way most Priests will hear a Confession, is if you are in danger of dying.
Do your Easter Duty.
God Bless you.
