If you go to a group then will see "join group". Click on it. Some groups are moderated which means that the group leader will have to approve (or dissaprove, in which case you can't join) your join request. If the group is "Invite Only" then you can't join unless you receive an invitation to join. If it is a public group then after clicking "join group" you'll be a member of it. Once you have joined there will be a message board there when you're on the group. Just type you message there and click on "post reply". Or if you want to use smiles and stuff to then click on "go advanced". It's right next to "post reply". Both are right under the message board.
