Hi, I'm wondering if non- Catholic people living in neighborhoods near a Catholic Parish ever feel shy about inquiring about the faith but don't know about RCIA.
Is it a good idea to go door to door or mail letters to people nearby, letting them know they are welcome to inquire? I know that I never heard of RCIA for many years as a protestant, and wish I had head of it much sooner. It's a beautiful process, and I just wish more people would learn about it and feel welcome. I tell all my friends about it and am sponsoring a dear friend of mine this year.
I know of one parish with a team of devoted members who go door to door, introduce themselves and offer a card with the parish information listed, including RCIA info. They ask if anyone in the house needs prayer, and promise to do just that. Or would community dinners, with an invitational sign out front be a good idea?
