Default The role of media a topic at National Catholic Singles Conference

Do you know about the National Catholic Singles Conference?

The National Catholic Singles Conference (NCSC) was created to give single Catholics the opportunity to meet other like-minded singles and learn more about and share their Faith. Talks by dynamic speakers, time for prayer, and various social opportunities create an intense and inspiring weekend! Over the last seven years, since February 2005, over 3,500 singles have participated in conferences in Denver, Chicago, San Diego, Clearwater Beach, FL and San Antonio, TX. In February we held our 10th conference in San Antonio.

The next NCSC is going to be in Denver the weekend of January 27th -29th. You can learn more about it at the National Catholic Singles Conference website www.nationalcatholicsingles.com

Sr. Helena Burns, FSP, will be speaking on the role of media in as it shapes the way we look at others and the world around us. Sr. Helena is a member of the Daughters of St. Paul, an international congregation founded to communicate God’s Word through the media. She is finishing her M.A. in Media Literacy Education; has a B.A. in theology and philosophy from St. John’s University, NYC; studied screenwriting at UCLA; and holds a Certificate in Pastoral Youth Ministry. She is the movie reviewer for “The Catholic New World,” Chicago’s Archdiocesan newspaper. She is currently writing and producing a documentary on the life of Blessed James Alberione: MediaApostle.com.

Sr. Helena has been giving media workshops to youth and adults all over the U.S. and Canada since the 90’s, and believes that media can be a primary tool for sharing God’s love and salvation. Her websites are www.hellburns.blogspot.com and www.pauline.org

There is an early bird special for registration offered that lasts through the end of November. Take a look, you won't want to miss out on this opportunity!
