Default How is the "natural family planning" method any different than contraception?

The purpose of intercourse when using the method is for pleasure and to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Its 97% effectiveness rate is on par with that of condoms.

Why is there such overwhelming opposition to contraceptives when they have the same purpose and effectiveness rate of natural family planning?
