Search function not searching?
I cannot get the "search" tab to work tonight. Whatever I type in, it finds 0 results. I tried looking up "God", then "Catholic"...apparently these words are never mentioned on CAF...

Re: Search function not searching?
It appears to be down.
From Dale M. in another thread:
Quote:
In the meantime, you may want to use Google to search these forums. The way to do that is to go to Google and type in your search words. Then before you hit the Search button, add this phrase:
site:forums.catholic.com
Adding that phrase to your search words will force Google to search only these forums.
For example, if I type
douay liturgy sin site:forums.catholic.com
the results I get back will be all of the CAF threads which contain the words "douay" "liturgy" and "sin."
In fact, the very first thread in the results is this thread!

Re: Search function not searching?
When I try to use the Google search feature it says I do not have permission. I've used it before, and I've surely been around long enough to have full functionality on the site.
Regular search does not work either, as already stated above.

Re: Search function not searching?
Just checked this forum to see if I was the only one having this problem. Glad to see I'm not; search hasn't been working for me for two days now.

Not working for me either!
Until it's fixed, you can go to Google.com and type in site:forums.catholic.com search term and get a workaround of sorts.

Re: Search function not searching?
Thank you for your patience. The search is now back up and notifications should now be restored.

Re: Search function not searching?
I don't even bother using the regular search function - it never works for me. I can type in something and everything that pops up is completely unrelated.

Me too. I changed my password, logged out and then in again and the email notifications started coming in. Funny that you're in UK too. I wonder if members from any other country have been having trouble with their emails from this site.

That would be very interesting to know how many others were affected and if they were from UK.I just wish CAF had notified us that there was a problem.I too went to a lot of trouble to re set all my settings on my email account in case that was the reason I was not receiving notifications. I spent hours trying to sort things out.I sent emails to Forum Admin and to two moderators.I had a lovely persoanl response form one lovely moderator today.Things are still not quite right but I have had some notifications through now.
Hope things are ok for you now and for all of us that have been affected.

Looks like we're both in the Diocese of Clifton too. I'm in North Somerset. Creepy!
