Do Pilgrimages involve merit?
The other day, I was talking with someone about summer vacation plans. Since plane-tickets are a no-go and we've practically covered all the destinations on the East Coast, I suggested that we should visit the Churches in our area. He told me that a person (or rather, a Catholic) receives a special merit each time he/she visits a new Catholic Church or a holy place. I don't recall reading this anywhere. Is this true?
