Had a dream with Satan in it....

I had a dream than a good looking man seduced me and I had sex with him. Then I found out it was Satan and I became his sex slave....unwillingly. I've kind of already figured out what my dream means....Im good at that. I feel that I have been seduced by Satan into believing that a particular sin of mine is not really a sin....so I have been leaving it unchecked recently. I deal with the temptations of unchastity constantly. I used to be addicted to porn....now I am doing much better....I go months without it. I rarely have problems with masturbation anymore. But the one sin....indulging in sexual fantasy....I seem to have been letting it go. I tell myself that its not really a sin....because I stop it after a minute or two. But my conscience tells me otherwise. I have just come to the faith two years ago or so.
My question is.... I dont know if sexual fantasy is a grave matter....so is it a mortal sin....since I am consenting to it and so forth or is it a venial sin? I am under the impression it is a venial sin...but mabe Im wrong.

The way I understand sexual fantasy, is that if you consent to the thoughts and use them for purpose of arousal, then that is in mortal sin territory. If you merely have the thoughts, then do your best to will them away and try to redirect your thoughts, then you have not sinned. Someone please correct me if I am wrong...
Either way, it is best to go to regular confession to address the issue, especially since you have a history of sexual impurity. Have you installed a porn/nudity filter on your computer? I recently did and I can just feel a big relief after doing so. K9 is a good one; there are special settings you can use to just block porn/nudity, then you can create a password that you will not remember, set it to a special email account, delete the email account once it is set up and bingo, totally tamper proof.
I keep a picture of St. Therese (Little Flower) next to my bed. I would suggest you keep something spiritual next to your bed, perhaps a blessed rosary under your pillow. I would even pray the rosary before bed as well.

When you're dreaming and asleep, you cannot sin. You don't have the three things required to mortally sin, the biggest being full consent and pre-meditation.

Now, your dream could have been demonic, but I'd see a Priest about that as I'm not an authority. Say a Rosary before you sleep, it'll keep the demons away!

As soon as you become aware of what you are doing, then it is obligatory to set you mind on something else to get rid of it.

The mysteries of the rosary are a good way to divert your attention and put something holy into your memory to override the thought that is there. Our thoughts become our future. To keep the memory clean is important. Putting holy ideas in the memory is a must.

I know you are trying and Mary,virgin mother, is especially good at helping.

Reguardless of the site, you are in danger of gettin false information, which will complicate matters for you.
It would help enormously if you got into the habit of nightly prayer and frequent confession, say a minimum of once a week. If it is good enough for our Pope and clergy, then it should be good for you.
As for your recent dream about satan, I would avoid watching horror movies, or reading purient literature before going to bed.

I have confessed all these sins and I asked him if it was venial or mortal...but he didnt give an answer. He just said....what matters is whats in you heart. Im still trying to figure it out. So please dont tell me what to do....there is nothing wrong with asking the question I asked.
I do go to frequent confession. As for my dream....I dont watch tv. No movies of a Satanic nature and I dont read except for information.....

I thought when you said "dreaming" you meant asleep. Again, I'm sorry.

But definitely pray to the Blessed Mother! Also, do you have a patron saint? Pray to him/her too! Their intercession is powerful!

Try to cease deceiving yourself into believing it is not a sin. You need to be open and honest with yourself about the fact that it is a sin. If you are open and honest with yourself about the fact that it is a sin then it might make you less likely to commit that sin out of fear of God's just judgment.

Thank you...I have recently began appying this and not letting myself get carried away by sexual fantasy...I know I was trying to fool myself...and perhaps the dream I had avout having sex with Satan when I was asleep was a wake up call for me to fully realize it. Thanks to everyone for helping me stay on the straight and narrow path...its partly why I come here to these forums
