What is your Favorite Christmas Decoration?
That one you look forward to unpacking and seeing every year.

Re: What is your Favorite Christmas Decoration?
The Nativity scene. I set it up in a very conspicuous spot.

I, too, love my family's Nativity set.
I also have an ornament I made last year, it's made of red glitter with silver writing on it.

All the little crafts and ornaments that my children have made over the years. I love a magnet they made with the nativity scene that says Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

Re: What is your Favorite Christmas Decoration?
Yes, we all look forward to taking out the Nativity Set each year.
But an actual ornament... that changes from year to year, I think. Most of our ornies are either handmade or were purchased to "memorialize" a special occasion or situation of our family. My son has a disability, so we had prayed for years to be able to take him to "swim with the dolphins." Of course, this meant traveling to an exotic location, which was pretty much a pipe dream as we struggle to buy gas just to get to work each day.
But then we found out that our local Six Flags park has a swim with the dolphins event. OK, so its isn't an exotic location, but we'd get to swim in the water with dolphins - close enough! With much sacrifice, we saved the money and the three of us got this chance of a lifetime. And I squirreled away enough to afford to buy a pretty hand-blown glass ornament of a dolphin with a wreath around his neck.
Since our swim, we have framed a photo of us with a dolphin, and many friends have shared our joy of this event on facebook. A niece I've not heard from in years saw this picture on facebook and commented just recently.
So THIS year, I was especially anxious to find that ornament and place it front and center on the tree. It represents a family moment, much cherished, and symbolizes that despite struggles and challenges, we can sometimes find our dreams can come true and in unexpected ways.

Re: What is your Favorite Christmas Decoration?
It isn't Christmas related really, but there is a Gorilla ornament that we've had since I was a baby. This year, my baby gets to hang it on the tree. I'm very excited.
I also love our nativity. We always put the whole nativity out but, but I hide the infant Jesus somewhere. We don't put him out until Christmas morning.

Re: What is your Favorite Christmas Decoration?
One year, my grandmother saved the wishbone from a turkey instead of letting us kids pull it apart to see who would get their wish. She wrapped the wishbone in gold sequin fabric, made a little loop to hang it with, and gave it to me as a Christmas tree ornament.
