Default Music for Easter Liturgy

Hey all, I am a musician and was asked to prepare music for the Easter service. I was wondering if you could direct me to some music that would be fitting for guitar for the entire service.

Do you not have a Music book available to you at your parish?

Songs my parish usually has, but not with Guitar, usually the Organ, are like Alleluia! Let the Holy Anthem Rise. And Jesus Christ is Risen today. And many others related to Easter.

You said "Easter Service"....do you mean Service or Mass?

Dear OP:

Trying to determine what is your background in music selection. I would suggest if there is no one to ask in your parish (or mission), that you call a local parish and ask to speak to their Liturgy Director or Music Director who can assist you. Considering this is Sunday afternoon, and Easter is one (and busy) week away, probably rather than researching this on your own, may the assistance of a person who has experience with this would assist.

The first thing though is to sit down and read the readings, and pray for the Holy Spirit's direction in this selection. Also, my advice (and I have been in your shoes) would be to keep it simple, making sure to have the music that is required, but choose the more simple of songs in each category, especially if this is your first time filling in in this capacity....

May our Heavenly Father assist you in music selection. I will keep you in prayer during this selection.

Jesus Christ Is Risen Today (the quintessential Easter hymn)
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia, Give Thanks to the Risen Lord
At the Lamb's High Feast
The Strife Is O'er
Ye Sons and Daughters
Christ The Lord Is Risen Today (Wesley)
Christ The Lord Is Risen Today (VICTIMAE PASCHALI)
I Know That My Redeemer Lives

I would add All Creatures of Our God and King to that list.

You want lots of "Alleluia".

Nooo!! I didn't mean it!
