Based on the relaxation of the rules on reading scripture in the vernacular and the possibility of new saints being added into the calendar set forth in the motu proprio, it's really not accurate to refer to it as the Tridentine Rite or the Missal of Pius V or John XXIII. Our current Holy Father's name should be given to the old liturgy in honor of his courageous decision to remove the restrictions on it.

Therefore, from the blessed date of July 7, 2007 onwards, let the ordinary version be called the Pauline in honor of Pope Paul VI, and let the extraordinary be called the Benedictine in honor of Pope Benedict XVI. Fiat, fiat!
Interesting point. Time may indeed bear out your idea.

Peace and God bless!

Am I alone in wondering why this sub topic of MP was put in the Traditional slot rather than the Liturgy and Sacraments slot?

Am I wrong to wonder that?

Sorry Chicago, I know that is sorta off the point of your thread- but you have a lot of knowledgable posters posting on this thread- so I thought asking here would get a good answer.

I think that most of the threads which were started on the topic before there was a subforum were already being discussed in Traditional Catholicism.
