Default City of God

Has anyone read Augustines Tomb of knowledge called the City of God? I noticed LibriVox has an public audio download of the book and I have started at the begining. Its an absolute enourmous book. Some parts I have to repeat in order to understand what he is saying, I had this problem with the his confessions also. The entire audio book is over a gig in itself. What are your reviews and favorite excerpts of this book?

City of God is a wonderful work; well worth reading. If you want to read a shortened version, I can recommend this abridgment.

When does augustine start talking more about christianity and less about Paganism. Im still at the begining of the book, but there is a little too much on the Pagan Gods.

In the Second Part (e.g., starting in book XI) Augustine focuses much more on Christianity. If you look in the middle of this page you can find a detailed outline that can help you navigate.
