How does a Catholic address an Orthodox Metropolitan?
I recently attended a conference in which Metropolitan Kallistos was a featured speaker. The Metropolitan was very approachable afterwards, very friendly, and entertained discussion with anyone who wished it. For Orthodox, it is customary to extend both hands, kiss the Metropolitan's hand, and receive his blessing. It got me wondering: How ought a Catholic greet a Metropolitan? Is it okay for Catholics to accept the Metropolitan's blessing and kiss his hand? I know that non-Catholics do not need to kiss the pope's hand. I did not ask for his blessing, because I was not sure if I should or not. But I was just wondering what would be appropriate in this situation.
