Default Gustav means "God's Staff".

I just found this out. Doesn't it make you think a bit?

Biblically, the staff was a symbol of God's power and sovereignty as in Moses turning the staff into a snake as evidence that he was speaking for God and again when Moses raised the staff and the Red Sea parted.

Perhaps God will be showing His power or make a statement with "Gustav".

We'll know shortly.

------

On television they showed the picture of the hurricane moving. The eye of the storm looked like a baby moving about in the mother's womb. It was like watching a live Ultrasound. It really made me think even more?

God has the power to protect us from anything. Does the fact the United States continues to kill over 50 million unborn babies result in God removing some of his protections?

Interesting. Something like this came up after the gay marriage issue in California: the wildfires were raging. People laugh when others talk of God enacting consequences, but I think it is true in many cases.

I finally found the commonality between Pat Robertson, many evangelicals and "some" Catholics. It was bound to happen.

Hanna, on the other hand, means 'grace' or 'favour' And 'Katrina' apparently means 'pure'. Go figure.

GUSTAV
Gender: Masculine Usage: Scandinavian, German Pronounced: GOO-stahf (German) [key]
Means "staff of the Goths", derived from the Old Norse elements Gautr "Goth" and stafr "staff". This name has been borne by six kings of Sweden, including the 16th-century Gustav I Vasa.
