Which is why you are in a religious forum discussing politics?

I'm in a religious forum yes. I'm not directly discussing politics as such. I simply made the statement that the two don't mix.

Of course not. But you do have to consider some facts:

1. Obama is committed to maximizing the number of abortions through the FOCA because the abortion lobby has bankrolled his campaign;

2. McCain supports abortion in only very limited situations;

3. Candidate Joe Schmuckattelli is 100% behind the Catholic position on abortion, i.e., never justified under any circumstances. However, Joe Schmuckattelli hasn't a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

Therefore,

4. What course of action will further Catholic social teaching to produce a more just society?

[Note: Supporting firmly committed abortion candidates in the hope that in the long run abortions will be reduced is like subsidizing criminals in the hope crime will be reduced.]

    • But, the USCCB, The ruling Catholic Authority in the USA has issued an ideal Issues Voting guide: www.faithfulcitizenship.org. Please read FC 42: we are Not One Issue Voters; FC 34 tells us that we can not vote for a candidate who opposes an intrinsic evil, while ignoring or Supporting other intrinsic evils, or not opposing them. FC 29 and others say we can not dismiss other Intrinsic Evil positions, like the 100% Unjustifiable war in Iraq, which has devastated that country Entirely, And Killed over 100,000. There is No excuse to Continue it, up to 100 years, til We Win. And the Total, Complete Bankruptcy of the USA, Destroying our Economic survivability Happening This Year. Etc, Etc, Etc. As Many other posts on this excellent Web have justified, Neither Candidate can be voted or supported in good conscience. Both have inherent Intrinsic Evils. What about our Health care, Educational, Bill paying future?
    All these have been Demolished Totally by the Current 'Pro-Life' administration, which Initiated/Created False enemies like Iraq, Iran, North Korea, and threatened to Conquer them Militarily, without negotiation. Killing, Known worldwide War Crime Torture of over 100,000 'suspects', over half Innocent, Unknowing isn't an Insane Intrinsic Evil ?
No One Issue Voting! And need to look at Which Party, Which Votes Caused the Gravest Inherent Evils in US History. The Current Administration. And what the Future holds, with Candidates We can vote for. History of the last 16 years 'says it all'. Know what happened last 16 years?

The current administration!

How many people have died so far of abortion, and how many people have died as a result of the actions of our current administration? Please tell us; we're all curious.

Even a vote for Obama is not direct support of abortion. There may be other factors weighing on people's mind and hearts. I wish we would stop telling people it's amortal sin to vote for him or a third party candidate. This incessant badgering that it is a mortal sin to vote for anyoen else but McCain is getting us nowhere. We DON'T have to vote for McCain.

As Catholics we know we "Can Not!" vote for Obama and we truly do not have to vote for McCain, we could vote for a more staunch pro-life supporter like Alan Keyes.

If he were a front runner with a chance of winning, I would most heartily endorse him but for the sake of unborn children in danger of abortion I am voting for a pro-life ticket with a strong chance of winning.

The fate of millions of unborn babies, God's creation, lie in the palm of our hand as we vote, we must remain focused on life as we cast our vote. We certainly do no not HAVE to vote for McCain to be true to ourselves as American Catholic Christians, but as the highest profiled contender with the greatest chance of defeating the pro-abortion candidate we must vote for McCain.
