Lay Catholic Organizations?

Hello.

In June I am taking a vow of poverty/simplicity and travelling the U.S., spreading the word of God. I am going to do this on the streets, in homes, and also with a bit of public speaking.

A spiritual advisor of mine told me that I should affiliate myself with an organization before I go. any suggestions?

I had thought a bit about THE MILITIA IMMACULATAE OF ST. MAXIMILIAN KOLBE or Opus Dei...but i was looking for other options.
